Other than the sand being too white this is 2k's best original course yet. Whoever designed it 👍. I also have to admit I actually prefer the oncourse look of 2k's game better than the other, fairways for instance look like a fairway should and not like I'm hitting out of the rough. SR said it was Sleepy Panda.

I guess it's all personal but I don't get the attraction of the graphics in EA's game. Trees and overall plantings look more natural to me in 2k. Tell me the tree in the middle of the fairway on the 18th on Pebble Beach looks good. I don't think so. One example.

SR said it was Sleepy Panda. Just to be clear, I gathered that from someone else "in the know" mentioning it. It makes sense, as this was a much better course design and is technically sound. This is miles better than their official Pebble Beach, and it seems they learned from their mistakes and took feedback to heart. Also, if you hate the "snow" look, play the course at dawn or dusk. The bold white surfaces are not as aggressive.

Agreed! I thought Spyglass was pretty good. The very very white sand is a bit much. Snow on the west coast! It's a shame HB never allowed two shades of sand or 3 for that matter in the designer. This, right here. If they could use a more brown sand texture in the dunes areas, while using white sand in the bunkers, it wouldn't be as stark.

There are little things 2k can do to make their game a much better experience but they aren't doing it. Really small things. People actually think they will invest the time and money in a new game engine? C'mon man.

Could it be that it's the engine itself that doesn't allow for more than one bunker texture without there being issues? That's apparently why we cannot have the pot bunkers in the designer...because giving users free reign over incorporating them into our own courses could cause issues if overdone or something. IDK...just thinking out loud.

I have a course I'm working on where the local roads have to be crossed to get from green to tee in a few places. I'm excited that I can pull those sunken benches out and go with real crosswalks.
Also, where will Spyglass fit in on MyCareer? I know it's one of three for the AT&T, but maybe they'll throw it in as an alternate?

I play on xbox and with the feedback off but now when I take a shot the bloody feedback comes up , it's off in settings I've tried turning off on again etc I've not really had any issues with this game but now im a little pissed 😤 Also I've heard no more 3 click in match making is that true . Anybody having issues with feedback and whether they've contacted 2k about it . Having the same issue (feedback staying on) on PS5 and it’s maddening. Hoping someone will bring it to the devs’ attention.

When you favourite Spyglass Hill says it has been on the server for 29 weeks. It was accidentally available for a while if you were disconnected from the servers...I had it in my favorites for a couple months. They eventually heard about it and totally removed it.

My guess is it will be like Torrey Pines North Course is...not used at all by default, but there so you can add it in if you want. But it does not seem like they have the ability to use multiple courses in a single event like the Farmers Insurance Open or the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am do in real life.

Adding the AT&T and Farmers once they brought in Pebble and Torrey was a no-brainer. I'm hoping they bring other courses in and really flesh out the MyCareer. I'm watching the Mexico Open this week. Nice course. I see someone has the Vidanta in (not TGC). Maybe I'll give it a spin. Platinum is using b101s Westholme Ridge for the Mexican Open.

i usually agree with you paddy but i thought it looked awful i thought it was sand not buried trees but after looking at the lidar in 2k21 always wondered what they were going to do with the greens how they played..(125 speeds)...just a side note the delta theme in TGC1 was ready made for Spyglass no idea why they ever changed it for tgc2.Just reading on twitter and other sites it seems others like it so maybe it is just me. Did not think you needed to bury trees in 2k23 i thought you just deleted the Heavy rough tool, not something i have really looked at you need a more fictional designer for the proper answer. Yep there’s a brush to create that effect now although it looks like they splined the effect in on their course as it’s all straight lines, perhaps they could have used a fuzzy brush to do it for better gradient. They just needed to make it slightly less white! It’s definitely their best effort at an RCR from a planting perspective even with f it’s not perfect, they’ve showed more versatility rather than putting all bushes at ground level

The only workaround is using desert theme and using the base texture for some bunkers and sand texture for others, simliar with delta and the base layer but you don’t get lips on these quasi “bunkers”

I went back yesterday into 2k21 and moved my Lidar file of spyglass into 2k23 and this is how it looked in 2k23 said back in 2k21 it's one of my favourite US courses but in the end with the greens there was just a bit too much to design in 2k21 in the end its a good course Spyglass and you can understand how and why they did it and in the end 99% will not be bothered, and of course we don't know what goes on behind the scenes for design choices.
