Seems like we have been receiving patches every two to three weeks on Fridays. Like someone else mentioned, the current clubhouse pass ends in two or three days, so maybe we'll get another patch (or maybe we'll end up waiting a month between clubhouse packs which was also mentioned above). I'm holding out hope here, I figured we wouldn't receive anything during the holidays.

Mucking around in the champions tournament right now. So I tried fast forwarding my own shot, that had no effect on ghost shots. Fast forwarded one of their shots, that resulted in all their following shots fast forwarding automatically. Double tapping on the FF button undid the auto FF. I never thought of this, as I play fixed cam mainly I tend to fast forward the end of blind shots just to speed up time a bit as you can't see where the ball finishes up anyway. Seems the best fix for me is just not to touch FF button at all in rounds which I am totally cool with . Thanks for your input twofor22 and now I can finally enjoy turn based ghost play again in society rounds in this game, as I was really getting frustrated with it. No worries mate. It's a funny little feature in that it only triggers this auto FF if you FF until the ghost ball completely comes to rest, if you release the button even inches before it stops it doesn't trigger it. I'm not sure if it's intended or not but I'm not a fan of it either really. I only ever use it if I'm short on time and want to complete the whole round.

Worse from a technical standpoint? Don't get me wrong I've played some absolute shockers from EA too. And I wouldn't be that surprised if it's an awful / shallow game with very few courses (although I hope not!), But I couldn't see it having such poor console performance as this one or lacking basic multiplayer functionality.
Yeah, EA puts out some awful, shallow, money grabbing/we got your money now we don't care games, and is one of the best at it. I might even say they were OG.
But from a technical standpoint? I've seen some stuff, but as if by magic, this just in-
They just lost 60% of players saves in franchise mode on Madden. There was some type of bug, they claimed they fixed the bug, and players logged in, only to have their saves corrupted. This is some type of franchise mode, where many have been playing for years, sorta like what TGCtours does for us, but for football. They lost it, and are saying they will only be able to recover 40% of players leagues. Their solution is for players to just start over.
So yeah, from a technical standpoint also.

I can see EA's game having a very good career and season mode, hopefully that will be co-op online and local, imagine in Fifa you could only play seasons solo, golf games have gone backwards there. Tiger 2004 you could edit full seasons with course designer courses and play up to 4 players in that season locally. It is a backwards step if we can only play a PGA Tour season solo. Hopefully it has a proper sim mode, dynamic weather, good online matchplay, maybe Team like Ryder Cup online options and dare I say it crossplay. There is so much that can be brought to a golf game. Fittings, skills and balls with over the top attributes was a backwards step from HB, there are still way too many bugs also. If it does have a course designer I will be very surprised, but if it hasn't it will never be a true community online golf game in my view.

True on the last sentence but mainly being a solo player, I don't particularly care too much on that front. It can have no course designer but have an amazing single/multiplayer experience on a set number of magnificent course and I'd be hooked. Yes it's better with a course designer but it's not too of my list. I just think if EA have just a basic career mode (based on their expertise), it will still smash this money grab of game out the water I'm afraid to say. The physics have to be on point though nothing like that Rory crap, especially putting. If it's that old physics, then count me out and I'll just stay with 2K21.

If you think this is a money grab, I suspect EA will blow 2K23 out of the water on that front. I'm sure EA will produce a great looing game with slick presentation but I suspect gameplay will be ropey and I'll be amazed if there isn't a heavy lean towards an online gambling element as per the FIFA model. Amazing drivers in boxes that you'll never get without spending $$$$. Maybe I'll be wrong but I've avoided EA for that reason for a long while now.

I can't see it being a bad game given how long they've been out of the market and also delaying it back to Spring 2023. I think they would've put a lot of work into it unlike HB on 2K23. Yes they may have mtx and such but what game doesn't these days and there'll be no need to buy into it I don't think. I dunno, I just think EA are going to come back with a bit of a bang.

I read on Twitter that Payne's Valley is one of the courses to be released in thsi new update. Did I read correctly somewhere else that Pebble Beach and Spyglass are also in the works ?? I do like that they are still working on courses for release. At least this is a good thing.

Pebble is supposed to come out during season 2, so any time between now and March 24. Payne's Valley was just announced today, in the Clubhouse Pass Season 2 release. It will also be out this season - sometime before March 24. Nothing has been said about Spyglass, but I'd think it would come out along with Pebble, like it was when both Torrey Pines courses came out at the same time.

Most interested to play the HB verison of Spyglass actually. This is the one that excites me the most. We have what I feel is a pretty solid version of Pebble Beach from friendBOMBER.

The biggest positive to an official version of Pebble (and really all the added courses) is that it means it will be available in MyCareer mode.

Said it before it will be most interesting how HB/2k do spyglass hill considering there some of the trickiest greens in the USA,the Lidar in 2k21 made them unplayable at 187 will be interesting to see the 7ft drop from Top to bottom on the 4th green. Maybe the recent changes at Pebble Beach are slowing down the release of the course. www.pebblebeach.com/insidepebblebeach/pebble-beach-reopens-restored-8th-green/
