I was play testing and came across this bug. Has anyone else encountered this while designing a course? Not really sure how to proceed. The slope isn't insanely severe at all, which I thought might have something to do with it. Even after smoothing it out a little, my fee are still under the ground and I can't see the ball.

After flattening the area and raising the area again, I'm now floating a foot above the ground... Any ideas?

After a lot of trial and error, I figured this out and was able to publish my course (Opal Creek Gorge in my signature). I completely forgot to come back here and write about the fix. I'm not sure if I would consider it a bug or just user error to be honest. I'm kind of leaning towards a combo of both.
Here's how I figured it out in case anyone else runs into the same issue.
1. First I removed every "thing" I put on the course. This included, trees and man-made items and structures. So I was left with just greens, fairways, bunkers, etc. No luck. It was still doing it.
2. Then I marked the spot where I was floating/underground with the measurement tool so I would remember exactly where it was, and removed all golf related surfaces... Greens, fairways, bunkers, etc. No luck, it was still doing it.
3. I was running out of ideas, and was starting to get bummed that I might lose the course. So in a last ditch effort, I spammed the measurement tool to mark where one of my gorges were situated on the course, and then leveled one of the gorges to bring it up to the same level as the golf course grounds, and voila! That did the trick. No floating or feet under the ground
4. I exited the course without saving, and then came back in and only concentrated on the gorges.
But this left me with another problem. How will I create these gorges if it creates this glitch? Well, the issue was that my gorges were hundreds of feet deep even though the water level was only about 75-100 feet below the course. So there were 300 foot drops under the water that were completely unnecessary. The ground under the water didn't need to be 300 feet deeper than the water level, it just needed to be a few feet below the water level.
So after recreating my gorges with sensible depths, the glitch disappeared and I was able to publish.
Hopefully nobody else encounters this issue. But if you do, I hope this will help.
