We need more discussions like this for 2k23. I think the various techniques are vastly different depending on our respective muscle-memories, controller types, size of hands, systems etc. I'm only one year old in 2k golf games, so hardly an expert, and am currently in CC-C, about where I need to be. In the previous generation I had a lot of consistency with using the two-finger "nipple method", and pausing at the top of my swing. This generation, I have reinvented my swing 3 or 4 times, all with mixed success. Currently I'm getting the most consistency with the traditional thumb method (90 degrees behind the tip of the controller, then pivoting), but I find that pulling back partially until the club-head is at max, then starting my downswing almost immediately, or just before, gives me a much cleaner swing-plane and predictable tempo.

jmg87, Here's a few swing techniques that I use on PS4, wired, and never calibrated. 2K23s swing line sensitivity has increased so I'm also tinkering around with intentional push or pulls to avoid two way misses. Tip for newer players - Timing is ONLY effected by the speed of your analog stick from dead center neutral to the forward end of your controller housing where you Finish your swing. Backswing, nor any part of your backswing, which also includes the position from fully back, at the rear of your housing to dead center neutral have no effect on timing. In other words, rhythm, or a 1:1 ratio in a back to forward movement do not contribute to hitting Perfects. For Timing (tempo 2k21) I like to think in terms of an imaginary 1-10 power scale, with the goal of applying enough pressure to the analog stick, from neutral to finish, to produce a 7 out of 10. That means it's important to be in a STABLE, consistent, nearly identical finger and hand position, to include repeatable amounts of pressure being applied to the analog stick, points of contact from your fingers to the controller, from the controller to the table, etc. Here's a quick vid showcasing some some methods and the potential they produce:

Seanny,
I like that you mention dead space in the swing as well and although I do not use that method you are using I can definitely tell it is getting from the backswing evenly and directly as fast as possible. Although, you are correct that Backswing does not have to be 1:1 that is sort of what I advocate, or really just not pausing although you technically could. Why? I feel the more time spent in the swing gives more time for error. I also feel like this version will not even give you a perfect unless it’s a plenty fast(direct) swing.
Syba,
Where the thumb points is usually where the ball goes excluding rhythm in a perfect world. I use the same set up as you just the opposite direction, and try to end with my thumb perfectly at 12 o’ clock.
