Is your TV set to 'game mode' ?? It is. Its very strange. I've been through the tv's menu and Xbox settings, seems fine, just doesn't bloody work. Tried two high speed HDMI cables. Are you going into external device manager in your TV settings and turning on HDMI UHD colour for the HDMI socket you're using ? |

Doesn't it need to be an Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable? The Series X comes with an Ultra High Speed Cable in the Box but a Series S only comes with a High Speed cable in the box.

I suppose it could be l need an ultra high speed cable. Kie is right an ultra speed hdmi cable is what I am using on my PC to my LG C2, 48 gbps speed. Edit: just read up that a high speed HDMI is fine for 4K 60hz and HDR chroma subsampling 4:4:4, which is the full HDR colour gamut. I am sure I am using a high speed only HDMI cable on my PS4 Pro and HDR is fine on it but it's limited to 60hz. The ultra speed cables are for 8K and 4K 120hz. |

Is there an option on Xbox to change from 120Hz to 60Hz, because your high speed cable won't support 120Hz. Maybe that's the reason HDR doesn't work. 120Hz isn't an option, only 60Hz. Its fine, the game looks good on Oled. The Hz doesn't change the quality of the picture just smoothness of motion really, any framerate over 60 fps is very smooth. Yes I have an OLED too and the game looks a lot better in HDR so I hope you can sort it out. |

You need a high speed HDMI cable. Random thanks for this comment. I bought a couple of these cables when I got my 4K TV 2 years ago for the PS5, but I forgot about this detail when I got my new PC and now 4K monitor over the last 2 weeks. Gonna swap out the old HDMI cable. Display port better if you have it, the latest ones work much better with 4K and HDR |

Random thanks for this comment. I bought a couple of these cables when I got my 4K TV 2 years ago for the PS5, but I forgot about this detail when I got my new PC and now 4K monitor over the last 2 weeks. Gonna swap out the old HDMI cable. Display port better if you have it, the latest ones work much better with 4K and HDR Most TV's don't have display port, HDMI is 120hz max but you get the full 4:4:4 chroma with no subsampling on most quality TV's. I have been using monitors for years but bit the bullet and went for the LG C2 42 inch TV to use as a monitor. Absolutely fantastic for games and movies, it has Gsync and Freesync. But if you use it a lot for other stuff on your PC the auto dimming does get annoying at times. I couldn't go back to LCD, might well get a larger C2 for the lounge 😁 |

I couldn't go back to LCD, might well get a larger C2 for the lounge 😁 I have the C2 but the in game HDR settings are greyed out on the PS4 version of the game, enabled on the ps5 version. The hdmi cable that comes with ps5 is 2.1 and good for 120hz. Someone mentioned above they bought hdmi cables for their ps5. Hopefully they got 2.1 otherwise they should probably use the cable that came with the console. |

Hello and apologies for digging this out.
My HDR Rendering is grey as well, and turned ON. My Windows HDR setting is OFF though, and my monitor's HDR settings are not accessible, even though it is HDR capable according to the specs. The monitor is an Asus VG279QM.
Can anybody help please? I would like to turn it off to increase performance.

In order for 2K23 to recognize HDR under Windows, HDR has to be enabled under windows (Settings-->Apps-->Video Playback) before you start the game as well as having the HDR capability of your monitor enabled. Many thanks! Enabling HDR under Windows fixed it. Now I wonder if having had HDR disabled under Windows did any harm for the game's performance since HDR was locked to "on" then. Now that modification was enabled, I switched it to "off", and it stayed off as I disabled HDR in Windows again. As said above, I'm curious if this improves performance now. |

Agreed - the LG OLEDs (any generation really) take some beating, and they're very affordable now... I have a 77GX, and despite the price, I'm about as happy with it as any piece of tech I've ever bought.
