Ok, I know several people don't really care for Top Golf, as a game, but I was wondering,is it ok to use it as a form of practice?
To me, it seems like its just a driving range with targets to shoot at.
I was thinking it may be great to go in and do 2-3 rounds on it, before playing real rounds, just to get the feel and motor rhythm going. But I wondered if there is something I'm missing, so thought I'd ask. Does it use the same fittings and clubs, and swing rhythm that you are using in the rest of the game?

Yep, fittings, ect all carry over. I use it to warm up after hitting the range for 5-10 mins.

Does it consume balls? Should I make sure to switch to default balls before doing it?

I believe it does...all the streamers and YouTubers said that any kind of round (local, multiplayer, society, TopGolf, etc.) uses a consumable ball if you have them equipped.

I can confirm you do NOT use balls when you are practicing on an unpublished course. I always make a few holes to practice different situations and to get yardage on my clubs under different scenarios. I did it yesterday with a Legendary ball and it was not consumed after playing my unpublished course several times. The ball was in effect as I was carrying and rolling different values than the default ball.
Not personally confirmed, but I read that the driving range also does not consume balls.
