Just wanted to put this out there for anyone struggling with tempo. Play with the controller connected and not wireless. Night and day difference.

I play PC-Steam with xbox elite 2 controller. I was playing with bluetooth connection. My tempo was all over the place. I changed to the wireless adapter connection and there was a noticeable improvement. Those few milliseconds make a difference in this game

DUALSENSE controllers are 250Hz over USB and 800Hz over Bluetooth, the same as DUALSHOCK 4.
All USB ports are locked to 250mhz unless tampered with, so if you plug your controller in, you are at a lower poll rate, whether you're on PC or PS5.
If you plug your controller in on PS5, it will still work at 800mhz, unless you change an option in your settings to allow control via USB. If you change that, it will allow you to control via the cable but only at 250mhz.
Have at it, but unless you're playing in an environment with lots of radio disruption / microwave use, you're not going to see any benefit with a cable.
There's quite a bit more to add re polling points and calibration fudges, but it's not necessary here.

I'm just going off the 3 rounds I played wireless and then the 3 I played wired last night. Maybe it was a server issue, but tempo was all over the place for me before I plugged in the controller.

I think that 250hz is more to do with the PS4/5 controllers over USB.Lower powered mode when charging possibly.

Yes I know, what I was saying it is not down to USB it is down to the Sony controller's design. My gaming mouse is a Razer Deathadder V2, I can set the polling rate at 125hz,500hz or 1000hz over USB. I just think with the Sony controllers it is the firmware that limits the polling rate to 250hz over USB.

It's down the fact that PS4/5 controllers are to be in tune with USB2.0 ports that are on PS4/5 @250hz. Even if I go USB-C to USB-C on my PS5, the poll is still 250hz due the design. Can be fiddled, but got no time for that nonsense. USB 3.0 ports are 2.5ghz, so certain peripherals are able to take advantage of that, in the PC space at least.

Okay, so help me out: I have a PS5 and, like I did on PS4, I always play wired. My tempo is fine and I seem to have loads of polling points. Occasionally, max once a round, I have a slight stutter on the backswing, which sometimes ruins that swing. Am I making my (pixel golf) life unnecessarily complicated or should I just continue doing what seems to be working 99,9% of the time?
Oh, and please respond in non-technical terms… 😉

I prefer wired on PS4 with No Calibration which offers generous rounding, however, imo wireless (also no calibration) is a strong choice too. If you've already calibrated then I'd opt for wireless.
Here's a quick video showcasing both. Master, Inverted, Left Stick, No Calibration, Wired and Wireless:

That amount of pressure on a ps5 controller would produce very fast reaults
