This is a very difficult course and i found myself getting very angry at times. I practiced all four versions in a row and scored -7, -1, -4, -4 (-16) If someone shoots better than -30 during this tourney then they are on something. -30 will be surpassed, it's one of those course where you have to learn all the little characteristics.

I have got to start reading more of the posts on this forum. I have played this course before (the original course) so just presumed that course was being used. I really enjoyed playing the course, but I felt that it would be too easy so I signed for PGA this week!
I remember play the original version with no aids and it seemed pretty easy without the help on, so I assumed it would be a -60 tournament.
If I had of read this post prior to signing I probably would have played Euro this week as I like challenging courses.
A fantastic write up from Robert really sells the tournament, I just wish I'd read it earlier.

Is it possible to insert a clowns mouth somewhere near the hole on the 14th for day 2 before this event begins or too late? What about day 3 then? That 2d round placement is a favorite used pretty much every year for the club championship. Let's you know if your wedge game is any good in a brutally honest way. I tend to bail out short and leave a nightmare chip (IRL that is...).

I played the first two days and didn't notice any crazy or unfair pin placements. Shot +2 in round 1 because I was just testing out if I could hit driver on a few holes which resulted in water. Shot -6 on day 2 after learning I couldn't hit drive

Are we able to withdraw and sign for another tour?

Yes, definitely. If you have any problems, just email commish@tgctours.com. But you should be able to withdraw from the PGA and register for Euro on your own.

Are we able to withdraw and sign for another tour? Only things that could prevent it (might be obvious... never know) - registration deadline is closed - the tournament you are attempting to enter is full

Thanks for the info guys.
I have registered for this tournament now so I'll have to practice the course a little. I played the Thursday pin setup last night and really liked it, I think I shot -9 and suspect that it will get trickier through the week? Always good to play a recreation of a real life course too.
The thing is that the PGA is using Spanish Oaks, a course I really like too, by one of my favourite designers. So I am a little torn this week. I suspect that the scoring will be higher here? which I prefer, although I seem to remember Spanish Oaks firming up quite a lot over the weekend?

Wouldn't say it gets trickier nessecarily - just plays differently. Believe most people will be uncomfortable with at least one of the set ups, but which one seems to be individual.
Spanish oaks is a top track. Was great on the RGT..

Spanish Oaks is firm & fast, but designed to handle that setup! The designer did really great!
After shooting a -8 at Oaks in a practice round I was unsure what to do. But I'm gonna stay in Europe for this week!

I have tried to practice this course on multiple occasions. It is truly a great little course that requires complete concentration along with great course management. It is truly a worthy challenge. There is plenty of risk/reward and just when you think you have a handle on the course it bites you hard. I've shot everything from -9 to +3 on this course. I have to decide if I want to stay registered or take another week or so to recover from the thumb surgery before playing in the US Open. It isn't that practicing hurts my thumb, most of the pain has gone away, but the grip, swing, putting and everything is something that is taking time getting used to again. I'm trying to use the mouse as intended without going to a claw grip like I was, but as the thumb starts stiffening it is the natural default. I don't want to get into bad habits! Anyway, great course Robert! I only wish I could do it justice.
