90% of the bunkers you can chip out of Wish this weren't true. The arcade crowd didn't do it on 2K21 because splash was so easy. Demon do yourself a favour and find some good sim societies who play the game somewhat like golf is played. What actually is the difference between chipping on the green or chipping out of a bunker?. I'll tell you it is actually more realistic to chip on a green with a LW than out of sand in the game of golf. Laughable to ban one and not the other.

My problem is 65-70 work hours a week plus commute. Rare to play 2 rds a day. Ugh. Otherwise I would do sim. As for chipping from sand. For the most part that would fail on bad lies almost always in real golf. And if we all chipped on greens they would be dead lol.

For martbloke . The short game is a huge step up from 2K21, much more skill for distance required and timing for the shots is key. Lie really effects all shots so chipping out of heavy rough is much harder than off the fairway. I promised you a video, my early try on the chipping green but will be practising the short game which is a fantastic challenge without aids. Ball rolls out from bunker because I can't seem to get a decent lie in it no matter where I place the ball.

Out the bunker and chips look great now. I actually quite liked the animation of the golfer banging off his shoes in the bunker. I saw a lot of fast/very fast pitches there and I assume it's related to the marker. I know you have it off (like I do) but wonder if you need to pull it back (even though invisible) so the intent is amended and you don't get your fast/very fasts? I'm assuming it's expecting a fuller swing and because you have to cut it short, it feels the speed forward is way too faster than it expects?

Wet hard packed sand yes.

Good luck with that extremely difficult shot. You need that faster swing speed and bounce to get the ball up, you would have to pick it off dead clean with a LW chip mechanic. If chipping from bunkers was the percentage shot every pro would be doing it, in this game it is no different than playing out of rough or fairway. It is a piss poor swing mechanic but has always been there in HB games for some reason.

Was trying to change intent with no marker but not really seeing the slower backswing .Will try marker percentage only to see how slowing backswing works with it.

Don't tell me they've removed that now too?

Don't tell me they've removed that now too? Just checked you can slow backswing down with pulling back left stick. I am hoping they don't patch the tempo for short shots. Loving how heavy rough actually makes a difference to poor timing roll out etc. I think you will really like the short game changes. Not played a round yet but have yet to have a good lie in the sand from practice.

I've seen a fair few peeps complaining about splash shots and how hard it is for them to get out of the bunkers, wishing it back to 2K21. I dearly hope they don't succumb to them and leave it tricky.

Bunker shots seem harsh but fair. So far I'm finding pitch shots the most frustrating. I'm regularly hitting from around 50 yards in say 70% rough, aiming around 71 yards to compensate, missing perfect by a hairline and the ball only travels 20 yards. Considering I get perfects less than 10% of the time it's making heavy rough far more dangerous than bunkers.

I'm loving this aspect, and am hoping it will encourage a few designers to lower their fairway bunker count on new designs ... it got out of hand, but what else could they do when recovery from heavy rough was (usually) so easy.

I don't ever adjust to how a new version plays. I do the same thing I did in TGC One and if I shoot +15 from it every round, I don't care.
