I'm absolutely in love with the plot concept I came up with for this course, not sure what I'll do as far as planting, but it's actually been exciting watching this course unfold hole by hole... Here's the view from the tee on the Par-3 second hole:

The landing area on the opening hole - protected by rock formations and waste areas instead of traditional bunkers.

It looks good to me, the textures with that lighting and background / desert colours looks really good to me. Looks like the kind of course where you won't have to use too much planting, these shots look great unplanted.

So I've been watching a lot of B101's YouTube series, and it produced this take on a "Leven" hole, with the diagonal hazard being a sheer 10' rock face along a thrust fault. Here's the working 3rd hole at Lost Dutchman.

Going hard on the accoutrements at Lost Dutchman - here's the pool area that sits nestled between the clubhouse and the driving range and practice area, with lush desert palms and beach sand.

A few views of the 18th green complex at Lost Dutchman. I'm not sure the bunkering on this hole could exist in real life. Two of those bunkers would struggle to hold sand and absolutely would definitely get wiped out during monsoon season. Other than that though I really like a lot of the looks you've got going here. Look forward to seeing how this one shakes out.

Yeah, I was struggling to find a solution for what I wanted to do with the tall bunker in front of the green. I really wish there was a gradient brush for surfaces, so I could have eased the sand up into the nooks of the rock face. Oh well. Which of the other bunkers was troublesome for you? Are there any desert southwest courses you could recommend I look at for inspiration?

Are there any desert southwest courses you could recommend I look at for inspiration? Not sure if it’ll help but dragging a flatten circle brush down slopes can soften the gradient. For that tall bunker you could have a flat sand bottom and then maybe a stone face to it, it’s unique if nothing else. Could look at the famous bunker at El Chameleon for inspiration www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.golfdigest.com/story/it-looks-like-the-cave-bunker-at-the-ohl-classic-at-mayakoba-has-gotten-even-bigger/amp

I just removed it altogether. The steep rock face is penal enough for shots that don't make it. That cave bunker is awesome, though! I'm pretty sure there's also a mine bunker somewhere (maybe even in Arizona?)... I was tempted, but due to constraints, I kept the "Lost Mine" as peripheral/hidden scenery on one of the holes.

Looking forward to this one - the environment is looking excellent and the work is really tidy from what I can see in the photos

Not sure if I’ve missed something, but what contest is this for? Looks good, I love the rugged slopes around a lot of the green sites and how the bunkers sit in them!

I'm not sure what contest this would be for, but I'm assuming Rookie 2023 if nothing else. I just knew when I started playing around with this plot that I wanted to keep it for a contest.

Just an FYI, you won’t be able to use any course you’ve worked on prior to the contest starting. Everyone gets the same time window to create a course start to finish.

Yeah as Justin said for all contests you can’t start a plot until the contest window opens. Also just FYI, the only TGC contest that allows betas is Rookie and Dream Team but Dream Team are only allowed within your group.
