Team Play League… Hey guys NEW to this forum. Old time has been TW golf guy from 2004-2014. Just started playing this game and was Wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I’m looking for a Society/League that primarily is dedicated to Team play. Maybe even like a Ladder Ranking System ? Ladder system i enjoy because the value of playing better players helps in both wins & losses. Thank you Welcome! Team competitions are awesome. Here are three of them: The Brew CrewThe DirtbagsHappy Tee Friends

If we’re going down the donate to play route that will mean me dropping out as I have no way to donate, I don’t pay for anything online, my Microsoft account is paid for by prepaid cards.

If I could find a way to donate I would but I don’t even use PayPal. If there’s a way I’ll drop in a fiver for you Les. It would be my pleasure. Then you could take part in the Donating Society.

I feel like this discussion must be different among the top-end players. I've only migrated up to CC-G, so at this point an eagle is still an accomplishment. /shrug It almost sounds like you're ascribing performance at a certain level to luck rather than skill. But I watch enough on Twitch to see that there is a performance gap between someone in the top-10 in the WGR and someone ranked say, 50th. And it's usually in consistency. I suspect that's going to be an issue, regardless of the TGC settings. The game might be "easier" to score on using Pro settings, but a tournament is still equivalently hard to win. I'd even argue that winning is more difficult now since anything less than 12 birdies per round will leave your outside of promo marks. I wasn't competing every week on Master swing and I only had 4-5 top-10 finishes last season, but on a good week I was there or thereabouts. A couple of weeks ago I ended R4 at -44 on CC-B and that was good enough for 32nd. It's just... frustrating. Knowing you'll always hit perfects is no fun, and then it just turns into a putting contest. Alternatively, if the main tours isn't going back to Master swing, then make Beer league a Master swing society. I think this is a good idea. If Beer League went Master I would absolutely be on board with playing it. Would that be a possibility? Might work nicely to differentiate it now the main tours are on Pro.

Not sure if related but as someone who has read the course rating book, I feel like the tools might be there to rate courses correctly for slope and CR somehow.
Its dry but interesting if you want to understand what goes into the number in real life.

I have an idea! 🤠 It's not handicapped, but I have no idea how handicap works, so maybe someone can adapt the idea with it.
Let's make it a giant team game country vs country. Or maybe North America vs Europe vs Internatiinal.
I would love it Master swing personally, but that's not the point.
Very easy system:
1st place is 500 pts for your country/region 2nd place is 400 pts 3rd is 300
Until position 125 to 250th gives 3 pts each.
It could be motivating to play a better 4th round even tough your 26 shots away from the lead. It could motivate people asking friends to donate and join the battle.

Handicap sounds good and will help players feel better about themselves, but I'd like to see the setting go back to Master swing.
I had so much fun the first season and writing course previews weekly for strategy but this second season with 2K21, I had to stop playing in Kinetic cause it's so far from realistic, there's no strategy or nuance-just TST for me. We have great course designers who understand strategy and nuance and do an incredible job to make a nice balance of easy/difficult thru their courses - then we players allergic to over par scores have to bomb away with no thought and render each course's strategy irrelevant. Some people have to finally come to the conclusion that in every area of life, there's always gonna be someone better than you at something - the majority of PGA Tour players never win a tournament, it's okay to have an over par round or get cut for a tourney - even the best players in real life get cut- and you can still have a great season without a victory.
After the two updates, us players were so upset that we couldn't cheat for more birdies with a red fast. I love the community here on the forum and TGC but I don't know how TGC puts up with thousands of people that don't come to this forum ever and have to be coddled and babied, don't engage with the community, don't thank TGC, don't donate (only 117 people donated is that right?) Thanks TGC for being so patient with us.

Thanks TGC for being so patient with us. So let me get this straight. If people don't enjoy the game for whatever reason, struggle with the shitty swing tempo and poor optimization on Xbox, don't enjoy some of the gimmicky courses/set-ups, or simply have more important things to do with their life, they should play the game anyway, donate, and be active on the forum as a way to pay homage to the better player, right? And just like IRL, we're suppose to "know our roles", in video game golf and act accordingly, right? SMH. That's some serious obtuse bs. If anyone is coddled and babied around here it's the Playstation/Pro players. Approx 460 pro players - mostly Playstation players - get 3 separate societies/courses. CC has roughly 1600 players and everyone plays the same damn course. Everything about this site is geared toward the Pro players (mostly PS) - [PS] Majors, [PS] special events, TST...hell, they even run a separate society out of CC. THAT'S your coddled and babied group, if there is one. I deleted this crap game yesterday. I'd had enough of the asininely frustrating swing tempo issues on Xbox. But I'm going to re-install it, play this shiiiite game, and engage with the elitist community on the forum just for you. As for donating....been there, done that. Won't happen again until EVERYONE has to support the site (membership fee), the game is optimized on Xbox, and CC players are more than an afterthought.

Yeah, the XBox situation was unfair this whole time but right now, TGC has satisfied the XBox players - if not we'd see them complain like last year - TGC listened and changed to pro. Any further changes would have to be done by HB and 2K - if they care about the XBox players like they seemingly didn't - but it's been said a thousand times - TGC didn't develop the game just a great platform where thousands of people have a whole world around this one game. Grey I've known you for a while and you do a great job participating - I wish the others were more like you - you explain the issues and make your voice heard. And you don't have to know your role if you can get better and change your role - it's in your control. You were on TrueSim - you know that community is terrific - we will help whatever you're struggling with - and instead of playing every single week you can do a week of practice occasionally - if you want to play every tourney than try to add some practice swings - then you know what your thumb's brain is thinking. Some here have ridiculously excellent muscle memory in that one digit - some play with 2 hands - try different things and don't give up on yourself. Come back to TrueSim and we'll help you - reading greens, shot strategy, whatever you feel you need help with.

williamwes626 I still chase the pixel ball around in TST. I'm usually holding up the bottom of the totem pole in whatever the lowest flight is - Snead, maybe? Flights is a double edge sword. On one hand, there's a reason to play all 4 rds. On the other hand, you HAVE to play all 4 rds, which can be agonizing when the swing tempo isn't cooperating. lol Outside of that, I'll play a few holes or round in various societies to get my pixel golf fix and move on, so I'm seldom around anymore. Cheers

Cheers I totally get that and sometimes some wonky swings can occur when you feel like it's a perfect - I guess the game's mechanics and the internet connection. I wonder if you tried different times of day if the swing would be more consistent. But you shouldn't be forced to do that. It's been 2 years and for you 2 years of frustration and that's a lot to put up with for a proper golf experience. It's a shame that 2K hasn't mentioned a new game yet and EA needed more time - I can see that without those games and your hopes sinking for this one it can be aggravating. Sorry man, anyway, the only thing I can say doing that practice swing once or twice when you're losing consistency is the best way to gain immediate confidence for that next in-game swing and to use those 3rd and 4th rounds for finding your game instead of going for the win. - Kind of like the pros when they're out of it but made the cut. They just work on their game and see immediate results. And if you're finding that you're swinging too fast going left a lot, compensate by sliding the target to the right fairway edge until it straightens out. Back spin is great too - every great player I watch on Twitch uses it - you have more control so it doesn't roll out past the hole leaving you a downhill putt. Anyway, I'm not that great myself but I do take practice swings and all of this stuff. Sounds like your putting is good since you didn't mention it- always a plus.
