Welcome to Baxter State Park. This fictional course is located waaaaay up in the North Maine woods, and encompasses the state’s largest mountain range and peak- Mount Katahdin. BSP is a 200,000 acre land grant and is home to the northern terminus of the 2200 mile Appalachian Trail at the summit of Mt Katahdin. The State of Maine owns and operates the northern woods only golf course. The course is bounded by Katahdin Stream Campground to the north, Lost Pond to the east, Abol Bridge Campground to the south, and the Penobscot River along the west. The course plays to a Par 70 (5-11-3) with two sets of manipulated tees: Green- 7125 yards (suggested pins 1 and 3) Gold- 7090 yards (suggested pins 2 and 4) Greens are 179 default- (but are playable up to 187). I consider myself fortunate to draw Maine for this contest as I spent a good portion of last fall hiking in Maine (Acadia and Baxter), had some epic days on the last 30 miles of the Appalachian Trail and Mt Katahdin, and spent many hiking miles envisioning how I would lay out a course in this area. Attached are some basis photos of the area for context. Rocks!!! Enjoy your round! karma4u if you could help out with some of your photo magic would be much appreciated.

Went to play this and cannot find it. What platform did you publish on? Published on PlayStation, Thursday, 9a EST it's nuts that it can take days now for cross platform access.

Due to a recent company hostile take over, I find myself with a lot of time- I'm talking my 17 yo up there over the 4thJuly to camp at Daicey Pond- hike the last 15 miles of the AT from Abol Bridge to Katahdin. Hopefully the weather cooperates. It was a fun challenge here to convey the thick northern Maine woods but yet keep the views open so you weren't constantly golfing down forested tunnels. Also- if we could double the plant meter, still wouldn't be enough to convey the sheer size and amounts of rocks along this trail!

What a beautiful plot and a fun round. Great use of camber throughout creating interesting stratgy to deal with. Love the Moose scattered around grabbing drinks haha

I didn't play well so I am not sure if this is on the challenging side or not. Will have to run it back. Really enjoyed the environment and was excited as maybe one of 2 TGCTours members who have been to this park? Good job and good luck.

Just gave this a play. You had some original hole layouts. You definitely nailed the swampy areas of Maine. I liked your sightlines and your larger rock work. I wish the multi-planted rocks looked more natural (the game makes them look like they just fell out of the sky). Good luck in the competition!

Good luck in the competition! funny you should mention rocks falling out of the sky... bc that's exactly what it feels like hiking up there. I dont know how many times I said it feels like at some point in time it rained rocks... I tried to mix up planting- and burying most of the rocks, and planting around other rocks... and keeping some rocks exposed as it exists up there.

Really cool environment. Loved the planting and sightlines off the tees. The greens of 10 and 2, the 7 and 15 being close together is a nice look. Can you get to the 10th fairway in a decent headwind? I only just got there with a 5mph breeze over my left shoulder. I saw a few Marty mooses out there.

Thanks for the play through SG! #10 has a split fairway with a wider, always reachable, fairway to the right of the bunkers (but with a bad approach angle to the green)
