We are going to clean up the tour names on our www.tgctours.com leaderboards. We require a full name/alias that isn't a gamertag or a famous person (Tiger Woods, Happy Gilmore etc). Those that are not in compliance at the start of June 26th will have their names changed by admin and locked.
Why?
One of the key goals when we started TGCT was to have realistic looking leaderboards. We don't like the look of pun names, gamertags, incomplete names etc. Previously we would reach out and ask for someone to adjust their name. Usually they would comply and that would be the end of it. Sometimes people would not comply and we would change them but there was nothing in place preventing them from changing it back at any time. It became a big game of whack-a-mole. We now have the ability to lock in a name so going forward we are going to again enforce this key pillar of TGC Tours.
Non-Acceptable names John T. T. D. Sir Chokesalot Wiger Toods Sloozy348
You get the idea.
Admin has final say on what is and isn't acceptable. We've let it run amok for a few months now but that time is coming to a close.
You can edit your TGC Tours name by logging into www.tgctours.com and editing your profile.

Correct but the comment says "realistic". Tell me how these ridiculously low, video game scores are realistic as the owners of this site are striving for? A start would be playing more difficult settings than the baby Pro setting as guess what....golf is hard! Many pros have said this this very year, as has the PGA TOUR official Twitter account. Even upping the difficulty won't resolve this as the video game is still EASIER than real life, but it's a start to push towards reality AND make the game even more based on skill. "Oh but we want to include more players and Pro does that and low scores are a bi-product we are OK with!" That's fine, but don't use the word "realistic" in that case for any part of this site. Not even TST resembles the most realistic version of this game as it allows the marker....oh and still playing on Pro!! |

You want to live in a world where about 100 of you shoot low on Master and the other 3k people get frustrated shooting around par every round.
Certainly, the scores aren't realistic, but I think that part is a given for a video game. And as usual, I think the people that run TGC understand this better than the squeaky wheels.

Certainly, the scores aren't realistic, but I think that part is a given for a video game. And as usual, I think the people that run TGC understand this better than the squeaky wheels. I would bet my bottom dollar that 35-40% of players in the tours (at least) would shoot under par after 4 rounds after a bedding in period of 4-5 events (at most). Edit: but anyways it's off topic. My point is, don't say you want realistic leaderboards when the main thing on a leaderboard is not anywhere near realistic. |

My comment isn’t important but if name realism is going to be a thing >>>>> I’d like to see courses kind of match the tourney name - example is CC this week is Myrtle Beach Invitational but the course is a desert course (Red Rock Gorge) while Myrtle Beach is an ocean town.
Again not important but I think it makes sense for those to match up when it happens.

It's all relative in the end so if you want realistic scores just apply a multiplier and you'll get what you want. I like real names on the site. Gives it authenticity. |

Bro, you have been beating on a dead horse with this low scoring theme for so long now. Go start you own society and create your own league. Make the scoring to your likings and see how many golfers you can get to play so there is enough competition. I’m sure you can do it. You live in a perfect world. It is just a video game. Or go play the real game to see REAL scores. In the end it is just a in video game and the TGC Tours does terrific work to give us competition each week with in tune to a likable PGA schedule with different tiers of skill levels created so you have promotions and relegations. Again, You live in perfect world and I fully understand your point. I’m not knocking your opinion just knocking how many times you bring it up. |
