Dear TST enthusiasts, Last week, I received some complaints that the course for the US Open was too short, too wide and too easy. Obviously, this resulted in some intense deliberations and, ultimately, firing the old scheduler (me) and hiring a new scheduler (me). You want long, narrow and difficult? No problem... After the US Open, it is now time to start preparations for THE Open and, therefore, we travel to Europe for four weeks; where golf courses are not a walk in the park... This week, we travel to Germany and we play the Green Eagle Nord Course, located near Hamburg - a European Tour venue (Porsche European Open) since 2017 and... not short and not wide and not easy. The next three weeks we'll travel to Ireland, Scotland and the home of golf for some proper links golf. Good luck and have fun, Frans

Seems like my game has gotten over its nonsense from last week and decided to actually let me play this tournament this week. Opening with a -8 round and about to begin round 2.

Cracking course choice Frans. Real challenge for someone of my TST ability. Round 1 done and I'm at least under par. Taking a bit of a breather before Round 2! Big week. Relegation staring me in the face.

7 under at the half way point which may sound pretty pathetic but I'm pleased with my pixel golf so far. Plenty of trouble to get into on this track and I managed to avoid a lot of it. Will it be enough in a relegation battle though?

Well it was all going pretty well up to Round 3 but the final round murdered me going for them little greens sticking out into the water from the rough. 3 swims later and it was damage limitation. Limped home at 9 under for the tournament. Will it be enough to stave off relegation?
Years ago there used to be a joke about my football team (Coventry City) who engineered numerous last day escapes from the top division of English football. They said if you'd have painted the Titanic Sky Blue it would never have gone down. Think I've just painted it red!! And looking at the tables it's going to take a lot of hard work to get out of Snead this time.
Absolutely loving the extra interest flights have given to the TST competition. Hats off to the Admin. Loved the course. Love the challenge.

Round 1 in, clean -9 that was balanced out (4 chirps) and in (5 chirps). Keep this up and I will be Palmer Purgatory!
Onward!
EDIT: Whoops! Just peeked at the LB. Did not expect to be on top, but that won't last.

Round 2 done and although clean not as sparkly (-3). Wind more of a factor for me than the slower greens.
Onward!

Round 3 complete and made it 41 holes before my first blemish on a card. Tried to finesse the approach on 6...splash. Did the same on 18, but saved par there. -6, still aiming for Palmer Purgatory.
Onward!

Round 4 started play like a big ol' fleshy after a dinner break, 2 Humphs at +2 thru 5. Chriped 9 then went grinder mode until chirping my way in from 14. -4 not a bad finish for the start.
-22 for the event...sounds like Palmer Purgatory to me.
See you all in a month, Hols time for me.
Onward!

I stopped round 2 after four holes last night as I was losing concentration, but finished it off tonight, ended up -6. The front 9 was just annoying, every time I made a birdie I'd give it straight back on the next hole. Did a bit better on the back 9, four par 5s helps a bit with the scoring π€£ -14 at the halfway point.

Started my first round yesterday morning (Sunday)and managed to birdie four holes on the front nine π. Got to the twelve green when real life stopped me and i had to go π. Just got back on the course (Monday afternoon)and sank a long putt (long putt for me is over ten feet π.) for birdie.Gave that stroke back straight away on the next hole for bogey π . Managed to pick up two more birdies on the par fives and finish -6. Just need the course to carry on being kind to me π.

Can we please rehire the old scheduler? Ugh. What a course this week, even par after round 1 with a couple lipped putts. Two water balls on the same hole and quad bogey in round 2, but still fought back to even par for second round with a strong back nine. Definitely turned up the burner on this one, Snead flight scores going to be very interesting by the time the wind and waves settle.

Got myself a very lucky birdie putt from 29ft on the second hole π. Chip shot for birdie just off the green on the seventh hole slid past the hole π .Two putts to get the ball into the hole for bogey π . Missed the green on the par three eighth hole.Chip shot out of the rough, ball stopped on the green fringe π . Managed to chip in for par π. Even par for the front nine π. Grabbed three birdies on the last four holes and no bogeys on the back nine. At the cut line -9 in the Snead department π

Well, I'm having a go to try and partake of the fun. I'm not in a flight yet but I played last week's tourney (-25) and am -9 at the halfway point in this one so hopefully I'm just 36 holes away from joining the party. Definitely a tougher course this week, but a very nice track.

-5 third round last night. Started with 8 straight pars after either misreading short putts or landing approaches too far from the pin.
I set up a bit of an "Ashes golf" match with two English ghosts and another Aussie. Just the the cricket we beat the poms in combined scores, in this case by 4 shots π
