Haven't written in a couple of weeks - did well at Colonial but the last round I was distracted went over par and got a demotion mark. Great to play Colonial against others for the first time - used to play on the old EA games. Muirfield Village I always wanted to play for a tourney though the course doesn't suit my eye but I had no time last week.
This week was a lot of fun - I had never heard of Blainvillier and it's a beauty and flat which helps me personally. 63-63-67-60 should be good enough for 6th in the Palmer division. I think 60 is my best TrueSim round - 10 birdies and an eagle, no boogiewoogies. I know of an old NY course named Meadowbrook but maybe this is a user-created one.

Well, clv is great, maybe the best at RCR's so it's gonna be a great time. I tried out the Brookline course and it is solid but not unbelievable or anything. In the Meadowbrook history, I see they hosted the 1955 PGA Championship so it has hosted a major before and now ours.

Is it Sunday yet? Need to banish the memory of this week’s utter shambles. Double demo already, only been in Hogan 5 minutes 🤣

Alright, send me to the scientists anyway. I have no clues left about my playing ability anymore.
How do you even manage to follow up a great start after 2 rounds to limp away with a -4, -1 weekend to go from -23 to -28?
It was already bad enough in round 3. Unlucky break after unlucky break. All the putts missed narrowly, all the chip possibilities were slightly off. Think I used all my luck in the first 2 rounds, everything that made those great were not here.
Round 4 I still believed I had a chance after shanking the very first tee shot into the drink and still walked away with par. Little did I know that it was the only a clever ruse, to delude me into thinking my luck could turn around. For every hole that I played okay, there was a bad one just lurking around the corner.
I was thinking that if I could still have a respectable weekend, even if I can't pull off the absolute craziest thing ever I could still possibly erase a demo mark to hold on another week guaranteed after this. Now it looks like that isn't going to happen so I'm probably still on the trigger next week. Note to self: if you're playing well next week, just play through them all regardless of if you're starting to show signs of drifting away and not playing as well as you could anymore.
If there's one thing I can say that went well throughout the week, medium putting was tied tops on PC. And no one had gotten them all. That's about it. It was great thinking I could have a great week after a long while of kind of sailing around aimlessly, but I guess the pressure got to me or something. I don't know.
Cheers, and good luck (and better luck for me I guess).

TST Qualifying tournament 2 rounds 3 and 4. Again very frustrated with the putter as I missed way too many birdie putts under 10 foot for my liking. Finished with a pair of 65's to beat fellow hammer and ultra sim player simchars1968 by 2 strokes . -26 interesting to see what flight that leaves me in. Also I have to say I enjoyed reading post from those guys lower down the leaderboard scoring well. No grids putting does take a lot of practice it really does have a real golf feel because even a straight put takes a bit of work and good to see people getting the hang of it. Admin have done a top job making TST fun for all skill levels, skoader 's work is just awesome. A couple of stats I always look for each week are long putt percentage and longest putt holed as I feel long putting (over 10ft) requires the most skill in this game. Would be a nice stat to see who had the hottest putter each week. My rounds 3 and 4 for those interested

Still not sure how I managed to do that this week. Just some incredible rounds. I've definitely been up and down, even quit true sim for a while this season. Proximity was amazing and I made a few tricky chips around the green to get me the win by a huge margin. It definitely helped that within 10 feet, there weren't a lot of double breakers and when it broke a lot, at least it broke consistently.

Players that DNF are removed from the field and handed a double demotion withdrawal penalty. (Except in Snead) Promo & demo marks are then awarded based on the remaining field numbers. A DNF also counts toward a players inactivity period. (In all flights)

Great job you are doing on the flights people. Top stuff. I wonder if double strikes for DNF is worth it though? As someone could very easily end up in a flight they are far too good for. Maybe just ban them from gaining any the next week for a form of punishment? Just my two pennies worth. As you were…

As you were… Tbh I have been thinking the same thing for the last week Luke ,was going to message Frans about it. This will just disrupt the competitiveness of the flight system. The aim should be trying to get high up the flights as possible, not winning a flight you really shouldn't be in because you didn't complete your previous tournaments. Penalty of banned from future tournaments if you don't finish, same for not starting frequently, say 3 in a row. Bottom line if you don't think you can finish a tournament don't play that week.

There will undoubtedly be tweaks to the system as we move forward and I think you've raised some great points here. Thanks for the input!
