7,478 yard Par 70. I really wanted to put a course together that looked and played like a U.S. Open course. I think I accomplished it, but time will tell. It does have rather generous fairways, but the length along with the green complexes should present a strong challenge. I'll get some pics up within the next day or so, but I need a break.

This is a contender, a real contender.
Brutally though in places but yields birdie opportunities to perfect shots.

I haven't played this yet, I'll give it a go later.
It looks stunning from the pictures. I love your courses smokn, I always have. You have the skill of making great looking, difficult courses that aren't tricked up, a really difficult thing to achieve.

This course will not disappoint you and is my pick for the comp (closely followed by University Links), not taking anything away from any of the other great entrants. This course has it all. The feel of a US Open track. The layout is almost perfect and has some of the best bunkering seen so far in this game. Good luck in the competition Phil!!!! Very well done..... Guys if you haven't put a round in here then you are missing out.... Word of warning that it isn't for the faint hearted..... Firm and fast at its best.....

I played a round with your ghost earlier today. You had a great round only dropping one shot at what is probably the most difficult hole on the course with its current pin. Also, a birdie on 18 is no small feat.

I played it and it is as good as it looks. You have done it again, tough but fair. As Rod mentioned, the bunkering is amazing. One particular set of three bunkers just in front of the 10th green took my breath away. You have a wonderful gift of shaping them so that they look very natural. I had a great time trying to tame this beast, apart from maybe two holes I thought that all the pins were accessible with well thought out and executed shots. We don't have to be able to go at every pin, playing for an outside chance of birdie, rather than playing too aggressive all the time has a part in this game IMO. I played really well and shot 64. I could easily shoot level par the next time I play it. It is one of those courses where if it isn't going well you could chalk up some big scores, I just happened to play well and leave the ball in good spots most of the time. I haven't played many of the US Open courses yet, but I don't think that there would be many better than this one? I gave it a ten by the way.

Thanks, blue. With you being one of the undisputed top players in the game I always value your opinion. I also look at your play as being a great measuring stick for what kind of challenge I presented. I'm not sure if you keep up with this sort of thing, but you hit 12/15 Fairways, 12/18 GIR, and an amazing putt total of only 23. You hit 7/9 GIR on the back. That tells me that once you got a gauge on the firmness you were able to adjust very well. The only GIR you missed on the back were due to missing the fairway. I believe both times in a bunker. Again, great playing and thanks for the feedback.

Here's my short review of the course that I just submitted:
Very hard challenge! Still a pretty good job regarding the US Open Contest!

You thought it was "quite unspectacular "? Ouch!! I wasn't trying to blow people away with a lot of objects. I was going for what I thought a U.S. Open course should look like. Thought I was pretty spot on. Thanks for the review.

Thought I was pretty spot on. It is, I think you misunderstood my statement: As you said, you didn't want to impress people with surrounding objects, plants, buildings, whatever. In addition to that - on first look - the holes give the impression to be played quiet easy. But they don't... absolutely not... and that's good.

I just needed to understand the context. I thought it was stated as more of a criticism than a quality, but I get it now. Thanks for the review. I did play against your ghost and after the 18th I figured your review might come across a little angry. For a difficult course that you've never played before I believe you really held it together quite well.

No, not angry at all. And if, about myself.
Couldn't believe I was that bad, so I played it again this morning. After the 76 (+6) in my review round, I managed to score a 72 (+2) at least. Next target: Par

There are a couple of things I'd like to tweak a little now that I've seen a pretty decent amount of play on it. It's difficult to nail it with a small sample size of play testing. I, of course, played it extensively, but I tend to hit a lot of the same shots. So, it's good to see how others do.
