Hello everyone! New to TGC2019, SkyTrak, and this amazing simulated golf world - holy cow chadgolf tool is pretty impressive. I've gone through his documentation, posts on here, and the tutorial but am very stuck on the EPSG part. I read his for the brave post and, while I am brave and trying, I cannot seem to get it. So, I ask of you fellow golf nerds, can you please help me track down the right EPSG (and check my work on the other stuff thus far, if you don't mind). Course: Peninsula State Park Golf Course Location: Ephraim, WI, USA

Best I can tell, Door County, is part of central WI so I tried all of the 'central' and 'Wisconsin Transverse Mercator' EPSG codes here: spatialreference.org/ref/?search=Wisconsin&srtext=SearchI also searched 'Door County WI EPSG (https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Door+County+WI+EPSG&t=newext&atb=v303-1&ia=web) and tried some of those but I cannot find anything that matches (from what I can tell - first time playing with GIS data) or that worked trying them in the 'Process Lidar' step. Side note: I noticed that OpenStreetMap already has the course mapped but the map is slightly off to the actual greens/fairways/bunkers. It is all slightly shifted south-east. Is there a way to correct this all at once? I noticed the 'Fine Shift West -> East and South -> North' option on the' Import Terrain and Features' tab of Chad's tool but wasn't sure on scale.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my fathers favorite course and I am trying to surprise him with it so we can play Peninsula in my garage when we cannot be there in person.

What makes the lidar data not good? I plan on making a few courses based on the same area and would love to know what to look for.

Just an FYI - I actually created this course in PGA 2K21 without use of LiDAR since I design on PS4 and can't use that data in course building. I know that doesn't really help in this case, but it's a course I have played before and enjoyed quite a bit. My wife and I love to camp up in Door County, and I play the course any time we go there. So it caught my attention when I saw it mentioned in the forums.

It's me who is not great on Lidar not the Data......I have produced The terrain into TGC 2019 but got to add the golf features of the course above. Just an example i perfer the terrain and then you add the golf features here's the short 8th and 1st green in background. I will try to get the layout done then send you the course file if you have trouble importing the terrain,it will take a while for you to design this course proper i feel.  |

Now I can finally live my dream and hit 1,000 shots on that short, elevated #8 until I make a hole in one  What EPSG code did you wind up using? At this point I am very curious as I lost many hours last night trying to figure it out. hahaha |

Website apps.nationalmap.gov/downloader/#/Type in Golf course name 4 sets of LAZ data needed for the course. ESPG 3697 i think it was. Give me a day or so and ill make a start on it for you, then ill send a message for your e-mail address and you can finish it off,always better someone who loves or knows the course to design it,also can't stand designing in tgc2019 these days. PS i am sure other designers design them different with street map and osm or something,but how the game does the blending i just feel its better with the terrain and add the golf features, takes longer but i feel its better overall. |

You're awesome - thank you! I don't mind designing and adding vegetation and details at all. I just wanted the Lidar and OSM data to get yardages and elevations as close to real life as possible. That course has a lot of elevation changes throughout the course and awesome awesome water views I was hoping to be able to design in as well. Words cannot express how grateful I am for your help. My goal will be to get all the foliage, signs, and whatever else I can added before Father's day and surprise him with a 'trip' to his favorite course. I can already clearly see the course just with what you have there. Incredible work. |

Those file's you sent me i could not upzip,(no surprise i am not tech savvy).Worked on the course a little over the last few days got the distances down to close to correct, but i did not realise till i was about half way through the google map was from 2013 and in places the terrain and the map did not add up so i did the course how the terrain was and how i feel it is (not many pics or videos). With you knowing it so well you will spot and maybe change any errors if you want the course file just send a pm with your email address or maybe you have got further than me.About another 100 hours i reckon to finish this course and like i say if you want it just send a message. Just a Shame i have to many projects on the go at the moment or i would finish it for you but people who know or enjoy the course always best to design it themselves.  |
