Dear TST enthusiasts, The IRL PGA Tour is in Maryland this week but they are playing a course that is far too easy for you low-scoring monsters (and not available). Therefore, I'm taking you to Links at Lighthouse Sound - also in Maryland, Ocean City, and nicknamed Pebble Beach of the East. And I'm throwing everything at you this week in an attempt to show you who's boss keep scores below -50 for once: (very) high winds, shadows on greens, narrow fairways, (very) fast greens, trees jumping in front of you... you name it and I'm throwing it at you! Have fun and good luck, Frans

That sounds like something I should definitely play later after a few beers and getting progressively more tired, so I can get more frustrated than I do in real golf 😂. Just depends how much time there is between the last game of footy and the start of the DP World tour coverage tonight.

It is a tough course like this that brings out the best in my rival Ben SkyBlueBen. Nip and tuck between us so far. Was +3 after 25 holes but rallied to be -3 at the cut which I expect to miss easily. Onward!

Don’t take so much notice nowadays because I know I’m missing the cut. Just keeping up my 100% participation.

-43 for me this week (-10,11,12,10).
The course didn't click with me at all first round then after that I absolutely loved it. Not sure what changed, whether it was the wind direction or what but really enjoyed this week in the end. Can't decide if it's a tough course and that's a score that will challenge or whether people will blow it away.
I've had a few top tens lately and snuck fifth at Augusta. Really enjoying my TST weeks this last while. Play well folks!

Lovely first round of -11 and then something happened to the game - maybe my controller or the servers or my PS4- and tempo became random… Think I finished on -26 or something like that.
This is happening more and more the last few weeks - am I the only one and is it my controller or PS4? Cannot really be my controller, can it? Have perfect tempo rounds in between the random ones…
Anyway, hope you all have fun!

I've noticed (on series X) that more and more often it takes a loooong time to load into holes and at the start of the round. Hasn't seeped into affecting my tempo if it's a connection or server issue though... Yet!

I haven't had random tempo rounds but last week I had a couple of random red fasts that I didn't hit any different to My other shots. The other issue I notice more is when putting, the putter head moves itself forward before I actually move the stick forward to hit the ball and it comes up short. It happens mostly on long putts but it has occurred on short ones sometimes.

Opened with a 66 again this week. I rather liked this course, really nice visually.

67 second round, a few missed opportunities there. I'm 14 holes into the third round and not going that well. Can't sink a putt to save myself, had a number of them that look like they're going the other way.
I have this arvo off work for something I have on, I did book a 9 hole practice round at my course but the weather might ruin that. If it does I'll complete all my rounds here instead.

Well this week is certainly a kick in the junk to me. -6, -3 for -9 at the cut. Should make it through but definitely didn't leave a lot of room to spare. Reads are getting tons better, but sadly they're just there and not quite perfect enough. On the other hand, chipping is more consistent than with green grids (whaaa?) and putting is just a hair off even with relatively tough ones to navigate through because of my stupid bad tempo at times. Highlight of the week for me so far is the stupidest bogey ever on hole 6 of round 2. I didn't touch a single friendly surface throughout and found almost all the other surfaces than green and fairway: heavy rough after tee shot (and had tall grass too so couldn't exactly see how much it shoots right), then it shoots way more right than I expect so I find water. Drop is at the bottom of this huge hill where the green is at the top of, inches away from water's edge. Then I have to take a gamble shot up this massive hill while in heavy rough, make it just up enough to reach light rough, and then chipped for bogey. Burst out laughing because of how stupid the whole thing was, but I took it. Well, hopefully I don't wake up into tomorrow seeing myself having missed the cut so I can get up to more shenanigans. Cheers, and good luck.

A couple of "rage" 4 putts in Rd4 will keep me out of the top 10 this week. I think they were both less than 10ft.....overhit the return putt after missing the first, then ending up with a 3rd putt longer than the 1st. Yyyyyeeah!!

Pretty ordinary weekend rounds for me, even third and -5 last. Disappointing way to finish but onto next week.

Great choice for a course - never heard of it but I'll remember it now. Did well despite the conditions 70, 65, 65, 67 (-21) probably will place me in the 40-something position on the leaderboard. That very high wind round was fun - I practiced in it some before I got the 65 - had 5 birdies in a row - probably my best round ever in that high a wind.

At least what I can say is that I was consistently worse round by round. -6, -3, E, +3 = -6.
Seeing very high winds for round 3 was just another kicker for me, I'm already in trouble enough with some bells and whistles added to the gameplay experience, but seeing them here... ouch. At least I fought that round out about as well as I could seeing I had very little going right for me. The less time I spend recapping what exactly went wrong, the better in my honest opinion. Not the courses fault at all though, it was a neat challenge that I just never could figure out properly apart from the first round. Could be that I was not feeling at my best at times and really lacking focus at times too. Need to schedule stuff out better so that won't happen more often.
Well, seeing as the intention was to get scores worse than -50 and still failing at the top end, I am now lowkey horrified to see what will need to happen in order for that to come true. I could think of a few really scary ideas, but mentioning them would probably mean I jinx those to happen, so no way in hell will I start blabbing those out, for my sake and all the rest of us that have never been anywhere near the scores that we're trying to limit here.
Cheers, and good luck next week.
