Week 30 - New Orleans Classic @ Te Oakura

Welcome to week 30! 

Our first batch of courses from the "World Cup of Design 2022" Contest are beginning to make their way to the tours and we have two of 'em back to back the next two weeks!
This week we lead off with "Te Oakura" by Sleepypanda7 who was also recently hired by HB studios themselves to work as a course designer! 

This is generally on the easier end of the spectrum for plat courses (especially the greens) but the extra firm conditions and higher winds have pushed up the difficulty a bit which is a bit opposite of last weeks course with easier conditions!

After a couple of easier weeks, next week is quite a doozy on what I consider to be one of the harder courses to come out of WCoD.

Well I think my Platinum Tour journey will come to an end this week. I sit at -17 after 2 and I think I'm staring down the barrel of 2 demos to add to the already 3 against my name. The irony will be, this was my first bogey free 2 rds for a long time but there were too many holes parred unfortunately. I actually hit the ball pretty well, putted OK and scrambled well, my big problem is and has been accurately reading the distance required on the approach. I was left scratching my head on a few occasions trying to understand how some shots ended up not making the green and other ended up 20 feet past the hole. This has been my undoing. Anyway, good luck to everyone this week and if I can find the motivation to play more, perhaps I'll be back...

-22 and missing the cut this week (okay, okay, missing the cut again this week  )
Think I've done enough to escape red thingies though, so I'll be here next week to shout at Q!!

Sitting at -24 hoping and praying it holds! I might have pulled it off for once. Haha I had an ace and a hole out for eagle in the first round that really lifted me.

I'm having trouble adding a youtube video to the scorecard via the highlight button. Is there a way to try and work around that?

EDIT: It worked the next day. No worries at all.

Hello.

That was quite an experience! Having picked up streaming recently, I streamed my Plat rounds for the first time yesterday. And I was soooo nervous. Feel free to check my VOD (twitch.tv/up_mup_kupen_nup), as it must have been hilarious to watch me sweat for 2 hours straight. Fortunately, this didn't affect my swing. Moreover, I had quite a bit of luck on my way to -28 at halftime. Some friendly bounces, a splash-in, and two chip-ins that both went in due to a missed tempo.

Of course, one could argue that I would have made the cut (-24 being enough) without these 3 hole-outs, but then again, things can go south really quickly if pressure increases as these shots don't drop.

Anyway, I guess I have to find some time for streaming the weekend rounds now.
