I have been getting quite severe dips in my FPS on this course which is affecting my putting the most severe which I think is due to the amount of grasses near or around greens.
The TGCTours website states it as a smooth FPS course but I am not finding this to be the case.
Just wondering if anybody else has been having any issues.
May have to go register for PGA that week.

I'll gonna let you know how my experience was when I finished my first practice round there.
PS: What system are you playing on?

I am playing on the PC.
My graphics card is not the best (GTX660 OC) but it has handled every other course on Tour so far.

Yep, I find it particularly bad. and I've got a very beefy rig/card. (i7 4790k/gtx 970)

What's weird is (just checked)... my ps4 seems to run it quite well. So it's might be a settings thing somewhere. Mind you... the ps4 putting is kind of 'soupy' all the time.

Jeezo. I wouldn't imagine you would have any problems. I have only got an i5 3570K.
Had another shot this morning and it held a steady 30FPS throughout.
Have no Idea what happened yesterday but was dropping to between 15-20 FPS.

poobley , Question for you: First time you tried it the 15-20fps time, was it materially windier than the 30fps steady time? My theory is, when there are a lot of trees and it gets windy... that's a lot more 'stuff' getting calculated (wind interaction with the trees/clouds/etc), and more shadow movement from the trees. So windier days create a bit of a framerate hit on courses with more trees, and in particular where trees cast shadows that are inside your draw distance.

Maybe. I think the wind was at about 8-10mph yesterday but between 4 and 7 when I played earlier. Not liking this erratic performance though. Still unsure if I should just register anyways or go to the PGA next week.

Scratch everything I have said as all courses are giving me issues now, so started my monitoring software up and something is causing my CPU usage to spike. Cant seem to put my finger on what is causing it after a few hours of researching processes that are running and virus scans so I am going to bite the bullet and re-install windows tomorrow. Luckily I wont have to re-install any of my games as I have an SSD for windows and an HDD for games and other programs.

Yeah, I checked it out again on PC. I just turned down Object Detail by one notch (from 4 to 3) and it ran fine as well. Poobley, sorry to hear you're having issues.

Re-installing windows worked. Definitely some rouge malware or something as no more spikes when sitting idle. I only wish I could have an object detail up as high as 3 lol I am however able to get a higher tree distance and number of trees without a major hit to my FPS now.

As Pub noted on his PS its fine as it is on XBOX, but the Box is not 1080p. I really need to beef up my PC and start playing TGC on there.

Maybe I've got tunnel vision, or just bad vision in general... but the PC settings for high quality trees and high quality tree draw distance I just can't see a difference between low and high settings, so they aren't worth the frames to me. On both of them, if the setting wheel was a clock, I have mine somewhere around 8 o'clock. So not minimum, but definitely less than 9 o'clock.

Haha. There isn't much difference for the amount of high quality trees. Was at 200 and put it back down to 100. But the quality tree distance you probably want around 250 to 300 yds as so you don't notice the popping from low to high quality. Can go as high as 2 for Object Detail now but that can be pushing it
