I’m purely thinking that some of those players are probably in the game aren’t they? Anyone paying attention should have been able to see this coming. If HB are aware and competent (I know, two huge ifs), they would have built in an easy way to hide players that defect to LIV Golf.

And even if it is thought of and easily fixed this could be used as a reason to delay until it isn’t such a big deal in the media. When does LIV wrap up their schedule?

LIV golf has to impact this in some way so I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a delay. How so? (Sorry to get into geo-political issues here) LIV is a corporate front to try and wash away the atrocities that the Saudi Arabian regime has wrought over decades with an atrocious human rights record and also being behind significant global terrorist attacks. Some people may see this as a money thing (which it partly is at best), but there is nothing positive that LIV offers. Saudi Arabia is a rich nation. They are trying to wash away their bad image with their money. Think of this not as money laundering, but as an image/perception laundering on the World stage. Disregarded the money and the politics. I fail to see how this LIV tour is bringing the game forward with teams that no one in the crowd can follow score or actually really cares about. Shotgun starts and 3 balls that take over 5 hours, riveting 😆. 3 rounds with no cuts,is that supposed to be exciting also. I live 30 minutes from At Alban's, but no way am I paying £70 to watch those players and the crappy format with such a small playing field. Would we really be missing much if the DP World Tour also ban those players, I don't think so.

I think it's too early to say how they'll end up, but their first tournament barely moved the interest needle in regards to the on-course action. The story isn't about the golf right now, it's about LIV vs. the PGA Tour.
When that chatter subsides, are people going to watch their product? IMO, they need to pull far more higher-end players and they had better hope someone from their tour wins these upcoming majors. There's a reason they offered Tiger a bajillion dollars.

Remember the wrestler The Million Man. His slogan "everyone has a price." So far this isn't true except for the golfers that just wanted an easy way to easy street. Heard them moaning how hard a life the PGA tour is. Grinding too basically have 20-25 weeks off a year. Oh sure they've worked hard to get where they are but there are plenty of peeps in the world that get but a handful of days off a year. I can only hope that LIV won't generate much interest with the real golf fans and it dies quickly.
I also look forward to the new game. I think it needs a big rebuild from the ground up. Not sure if HB/2K will do that.
I still love 2K21 but if it weren't for the folks who put in the hours designing courses this game would be dead. Thanks to those great designers!

If everybody has a price, it's hard to complain that they are jumping on the money. I'd like to say I'd be a hard no on LIV if I were in any of their shoes, but it's easier to say that when it's a hypothetical. The Saudis are some evil bastards, but I believe that each of these LIV golfers' home countries are allies of the Saudi government. It would be nice to see guys who are critical of LIV add their own countries to their messaging.

Have they worked hard? They're doing something they love doing, it's hardly hard work. People often talk about the 'sacrifices' they have made while training for their event in the Olympics etc etc, it's no sacrifice at all it's the things they do to do what they want to do better. A 'sacrifice' for themselves is no sacrifice at all.

With the news today of 2KNBA23 - Michael Jordon Edition scheduled for September 9th release and preorders started, if 2KPGA23 is coming in August as rumored, don't you think an announcement of some kind would be coming soon?

Not really, It's still HB people making the golf game. They do things out of the ordinary. Wouldn't surprise me if they announce it the day before release.

Which is about as smart as announcing a band is touring your city tomorrow.

Which is about as smart as announcing a band is touring your city tomorrow. They always do that here at least with the ticket sale announcement. It's always like a week before they go on sale and with how expensive they are now it's stupid. I usually don't bother anymore because I can't get that kind of money together in a week.

They announced PGA 2K21 in May 2020, before releasing the game in August of that year. I know they do some odd marketing and such, but they offered some lead time with that game, once 2K got more involved.
Who knows what's gonna happen with 2K23...

I'm just hoping they've involved some of the key "players" in the coming iteration, much like they had some of the very best designers involved in creating courses for 2K21. Would be nice if the developers involved some of the people who are passionate about the game. That's a win-win in my book !!

Busy ramping up the micro transactions instead of fixing the swing so people actually come back to the game.
