Is anybody willing to collaborate and help me with a course I'm designing? I'm a rookie designer, this is my first legit try at making an approved course. I know the chances of my first course being "tour worthy" are slim to none but I would love for all this time and effort that I'm putting into this course to actually be for something. I know once I get it out there for people to play I'll get some good constructive feedback for future builds but wouldn't mind a set of eyes on it now. I've got a nice flow going right now but can definitely use some advice in certain areas. Would love to get some advice from people who have tour worthy courses already and maybe just go through my course with me as it stands currently and just offer your expertise and what I should think be thinking about doing in the areas I have deemed as "problematic".
Feel free to privately message me.
Thanks!

I agree with Steve, post a beta version and list out the specific areas you are looking for feedback on. If you want, tag me and I will take a look.
I will also say that you should not be disappointed with your first course not being tour worthy though.
I do appreciate and fully support your approach to seeking feedback though. This is the way.

Thanks for the advice. This may be dumb but how do you post betas? I tried looking it up and can't figure it out. Also when it comes to planting around your course do most people wait until you are done with the entire course before filling in everything or should I be filling in everything as I go through my course and not worry about areas that are currently bare?

Also when it comes to planting around your course do most people wait until you are done with the entire course before filling in everything or should I be filling in everything as I go through my course and not worry about areas that are currently bare? Posting a beta basically means that you publish your course in PGA 2K21, giving it a non-descript name (a name that could include the date, an acronym of your potential course name, etc. - anything that won't take what you're planning on actually calling it when finished). You can then post a thread in this Under Construction forum saying you published a beta. Provide that non-descript name you chose, and say that you're asking for feedback. Here's an example of a beta thread: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/30568/looking-feedback-prairie-dog-memorialAs for planting, that's all up to you. I typically wait to plant fully until the layout is all set. But I might add some planting here and there as I go along, trying to set up some framing and views. You can do it however you like and whatever way suits your design style and plan.

So I'm almost halfway through my course should I post a beta once I finish nine holes and get some feedback or should I wait until I'm completely done?

If this is your first publish I would post now and gather feedback. If there are things you need to change its easier to change 9 holes vs. all 18.
Also, remember this is supposed to be fun, keep that in mind and it will all work out.

Best place is to create a thread in the under construction forum. Call it something like Ethan-v01 and we can have a review of it for you.
