Freaking love your courses dude. You create such a good contrast with your planting and darker environment. Old Onion is class this may be classier. Best of luck.

Yep this is gorgeous. The setting and environment was so good and I thought this was just such a fun round of golf. Loved some of the slightly blinder tee shots but the highlights for me were holes like 10 and 17. Great stuff buddy. Thanks bud. Can’t wait to see the WIP you have cooking.

Hey... I read b101 post and thought I'd better give it a look... to be honest i should have anyway, as your DT course was one of my favourites... Anyway, this is impressive. I'm looking more from a designing than playing perspective, and as Ben rightly points out, there is a feel to your courses that is hard to teach. The whole flow of the course feels very natural and it doesn't feel designed (if that makes sense). The way you've used some blindness and the way you mix that up, sometimes tee-shots and sometimes approaches, really good. I also really enjoy how holes dont feel linear i.e. there's the tee, and a fairway and the green at the end. They often feel more of an adventure to get there, and you need to plot your way there. Also the bunkering is really expertly layered, creating lots of illusion and hiding fairways... yep... you can tell, i enjoyed it alot! Best of look in the contest, and I'll hopefully take some inspiration from this to up my game! Thanks for the play and words Rich. Still have to get around to playing yours but the pictures look great. Don’t know why but maybe I kinda have that look down because most courses here in Michigan kind have that closed in feel that kinda puts the hole front and center. And probably why I struggle to throw down wide open courses. It’ll happen someday though!

Been banging the jcollick drum since before the DT snub, and this one is right up my alley. I'm pretty sure every non-par 3 had some kind of bunker #layering which is maybe one of the things I appreciate most when it's done well and something I always love doing on my courses, also a very MacKenzie thing to do. I'll do everyone a solid and just say Light Cloud weather, afternoon Time of Day for this one for it to really go into top gear, but the dark planting does contrast great in the default overcast too. Giving this one a well deserved bump. Thanks for the play Brian. Worked hard to try and nail that bunker layering throughout the course and there’s definitely a satisfying feeling when you do a decent job of pulling it off. Gonna have to give my own course a go on those settings to see if I can learn something for next time.

Really good course my man! I just played it on stream so Ihope you get a chance to watch the VOD. Lots to like for sure! Tons of good greensites and a really good environment. Bunkers were very cool too. Don't be afraid to get a little more extreme with the sculpting and make them really pop for you. Overall, it was a fun round with good variety and shot making. Well done and good luck!

The black tees (you played the whites) were the ones I designed the tee shots around so I totally understand some of the views off the tees weren’t ideal!

Got around to playing this and enjoyed my round but... with the lighting set to AFTERNOON and the weather as LIGHT CLOUD it defintely elevates it to another level. Great stuff! (NOTE... played a few holes of Old Onion and found best settings were NOON, OVERCAST.)
