A few new holes, a few old holes, a lot less bushes for 2k23. Welcome to the "Recreation Yard". Originally the island served as a place for punishment. Out of line inmates, were shipped to the island and forced to dig the sand quarries by hand or shovel. This all changed when warden G.E.P. Strantz took over. Strantz believed in rewarding the good not punishing the bad. So with the help of the inmates, he designed and built the Recreation Yard. The prison has since closed and staff quarters converted into visitor lodging. I hope you enjoy.... With manipulated tees the course measures the same from both sets and should offer a variety of plays. The course can handle 187 greens and most wind conditions. Thank you!

Dude, you're getting better and QUICKLY! This is such a good redition on Tabacco. I loved the big Sand Quarry in the middle, and this course is very much Stranz but also not full board batshit crazy like some can go mimicing MS. The look of it is great and your back story is an ingenuious way to make it somethign that very much could exist in real life. Good luck in the comp!

EASILY your best course. Everything looked great and played really well also. Your balance of off course stuff and quality golf is perfect here imo. Big congratulations and best of luck.

Some really good stuff out here and like others have said, your best course by miles. You’ve always been unreal at the off course stuff, and I think you’re really starting to learn how to reign in that creativity and create good, fun golf holes.
P.S I should’ve know the shortcut to the island on 2 was too good to be true. Should’ve checked to see if it was OB before I landed my tee shot on it😂

Dig the look a lot. Going to fire it up and see if we can make it difficult enough for elite because this thing looks fun.
Edit: This is just a really really fun course. Wow. And a stunner visually on every hole. I had a smile on my face on even the quirkiest of stuff out there because it all just really fit. Definitely think this one makes some noise in the bracket.

Hey Nick, really lovely course. I'm a sucker for a good back story. Cool island plot i.imgur.com/yD0SNDK.jpg and i.imgur.com/QcRzhZS.jpgThe actual penitentiary has a distinctive Alcatraz feel to it i.imgur.com/GgGEG01.jpgGood looking range the other side of the tennis courts i.imgur.com/ZKVC2u4.jpgThe yard looks a little bare i.imgur.com/B0eOunG.jpg I thought they would at least have a hoop. Also looks like they have removed some posts. The pit was nicely done i.imgur.com/wXugj9x.jpgSecurity guard monitoring the situation i.imgur.com/gmWjNmO.jpg when he can keep his eyes on the prize i.imgur.com/BVxqDtz.jpgI like the boatshed where a fancy speedboat takes you to the 1st tee i.imgur.com/qJ0uS8X.jpgGood looking transition on the first tee i.imgur.com/3nJ4mqO.jpgGreat sightline off the first with the beach turning into a waste area with nice planting. The firm greens running at 178 caused me ne end of problems, but not on the first. Hit a beauty into 2 but a 3 putt par wasn't that satisfying. Great blind tee shot on 3 aiming at the birdhouse and birds flying overhead as well. Thought it would be easier to putt from the fringe on 6, boy was I wrong! A 16 foot eagle on 7 went begging. Really nicely done exposed rock bunkering on 8, cool feature. Stunning views of the pen when the ball is in the air on 9. Threaded the needle on 10, good risk/reward. Terrible red-fast approach and my first bogey. Lovely sightline on 11th tee over the pit. Strong par 4. Great par 3 12th, I can see there would be a pin tucked back in there behind that hill. Tried to smash my way over the split fairway on 13, to no avail, but still managed to make a clutch snaking 18 footer for birdie. The round started coming apart with another red-fast into the bunker on 14. Note to self: Driver/driver on 15 bad... I got into a little trouble i.imgur.com/yUT1KLm.jpg. This is not a shortcut... So to walk away with par was a blessing. Tin cupped the 16th. What is it with water right and red-slows in this game? Gorgeous triple and back to par. Tough 17th and nice finishing hole. Will be going around again even if it's to play the 8th hole with 96 difference in yardage between the two tees. Great use of the tee manipulation to make the holes play so differently. 5 stars!

Really enjoyed this course, a lot of fun to play and I kept finding myself noticing things off course and going into flyover mode just to look around. Managed to break par but barely, great job on this one, and good luck in the contest!

Bump for 2k23. Shame it requires so many objects to be removed to get it into 23.

freternick, noticed a Rec Yard published tonight. Is this an updated version ?? Just removed some grasses from a fairway I missed on one of the new holes.
