I am taking part in the Backyard Bonanza contest, put on by VctryLnSprts. This contest requires designers to build an 18-hole course within a 500x500 yard plot...which is not a lot of room to work with! It's been fun to try to scale it all down, while still building a fun, challenging, and visually appealing course. Here is the layout...both with routing lines/border markers and without: The course is currently set up as a par-63 layout with nine par-4s and nine par-3s. Several holes share fairways and/or greens to make the most of the small area. There will be two tee boxes and two pin sets. The forward tees currently measure in at 4,599 yards and back tees clock in at 4,875 yards. The publish deadline for this is end of April, so look for more info soon!

Ooh I did not know about this comp, if entries are still open I might try to throw something together mostly for practice with tight routing.
Do you reckon it's possible to squeeze a par 68 or 69 in there?

Ooh I did not know about this comp, if entries are still open I might try to throw something together mostly for practice with tight routing. Do you reckon it's possible to squeeze a par 68 or 69 in there? I believe there still may be spots open. I think there are 25 open spots, and 18 are claimed as far as I can tell. You'd have to sign up via the methods mentioned here: Getting a par 68 or 69 would really be pushing it, although some have said they were able to. I tried to squeeze just one par-5 hole in there, and it just didn't work within the criteria I am sticking to for the contest. I, personally, am trying not to have holes cross over too much, and am aiming for a fairly realistic routing. I'd imagine you could get longer holes into the property if you zig-zag and cross over other previous holes.

You will enjoy it fargo. I entered the last competition which was a fantasy course and came up with “Piston Broke Motor Park”. It was a lot of fun. I’m entered into the backyard comp as well.

Good luck in the competition man, looking great so far, it's a tough one to squeeze it all together 😂
