Ok playing now, back tees, pin 1 and a medium breeze directly left to right as I stand on hole 1.
Personally I like it when people tell me things look out of place or maybe could be done better, so that's what I'll do. So any criticisms here are meant completely constructively. And I'm no expert, this is just my opinion.
The course looks great in general, you have paid care to sightlines and the views over the rocks are beautiful. I don't need to mention that every hole unless there's something specific. Green sculpting is really nice.
1 watch those splines on the left side of the fairway, where they meet the rocks. Nobody can mow that (especially that light rough!). If you take care with the spline points you can get the edges to look natural. You've also got bushes on your light rough. And also if you end up left against those rocks (the fairway drops down there) you're going to have a really weird looking shot in with your golfer inside a rock
2 - lovely hole
3 - yes 100% better now it's not blind.
This is going to be super nit-picky but there's a spot about 40m (sorry I use meters) forward of the back tee where the sand hits the rocks. But the transition where the sand ends is not completely covered by rocks. Move a rock or adjust a spline to cover it up.
I think the beach at driver distance can be sculpted a little better.
There's some grass in the fairway about 75 meters back from the pin.
4 - some grass in the fairway left of the green and also short right of the green
5 - very nice hole. I don't think you need that water at the back of the green, it makes me feel like you're trying too hard to toughen up the course. Just a nice gentle sloping apron down to the rough with the wall at the back, maybe a little planting, I think that would be better personally.
6 - the whole area to the left of the front left bunker should be rough. That slope is too steep and too unnecessary for anyone to bother mowing. It's not too steep if it's rough. Also be mindful how the rock on the left cuts into the cut grass.
7 - waterfall looks nice. Did you mean for the fairway to be cut right up to the water at the start of the fairway, and up a bit further too?
Green is cut down too close to the bunkers on the right. The land is steep enough that the fairway is plenty to get the ball into the bunker, if you pull the green back a bit you won't get such pronounced red areas which don't look natural.
Tough hole. Waterfalls look good.
8 - yeah this is better than the split fairway. You can add more spline points to the fairway on the right near 3 wood distance if you want a more curvier curve. Also some planting on the fairway 180m off the tee on the right. And some on the left about 50m short of the green.
Lower green is cut too close to large centre trap.
9 - I just think that bunker is too deep. 7m up to the green.
10 - I don't know if you've got intention to plant it out, but that whole area right if the creek might look really dramatic if the pine forest cane right down to the water. I don't know, but I think it's worth experimenting.
11 - I think you do need to drop the land down about 110 or 120m off the tee, so you can see where the fairway is. If you drop it down just enough that you can see a sliver of fairway, the darkness of where the heavy rough drops down, but then the actual rocks were obscured by that piece of land that you're dropping down - that might a decent dramatic eyeline off the tee.
12 - lovely. I do think you can improve the sculpting on the green, especially that front tier which is super flat and then an angular extreme tier drop off. I don't think this green is to the same standard as previous greens
13 minor thing but you can get that spline looking better at the start right of the second bit of fairway, 300 meters or so from the tee.
Biarritz green is fine but maybe add some additional subtle contouring so it's not just two almost completely flat sections?
15 can you make the second and third bunkers more visible off the tee? Not necessarily the sand but if you could see the land rippling off their shoulders that might look good
17 stairs look good but watch that grass in the light rough
18 Tony bit of rock juts into the light rough / fairway up on the left 300+ m off the tee.
Pin location is pretty aggressive. I don't mind it on default green speed personally.
Hope this helped. Course is looking good.
