Frosty took care of my weekend plans in La Jolla, he visited me on the 36th hole to say "take the weekend off Art, you look like you would rather be swimming". Might play the last two because I love the course, played it many times IRL back in the 80s. Onward! I ended up in the paddling pool both rounds. First round because I forgot it was there and second round because I aimed as far away from it as possible but obviously my pixel golf ball had its own ideas! It's name is Devlin's Bilibong. Bruce Devlin did it famously first. www.forethegoodofthegame.com/devlins-billabong-bonus-track/

Not just you Sunday play (as normal), live turn-based with Nath (as normal), between us we had load slow times, very very sporadic tempo, lag and a total of 7 (Yes Seven) blue screen errors between us .I was hoping to find last seasons thread as i'm sure same issues happened then with the same course but unfortunately I cannot find it, so I cannot clarify . Ps4 btw. Funny thing is last season I shot -17, well nothing changed -17 this week Yikes. While testing and playing, I did have some minor lag but nothing that serious. I'll make a note in my spreadsheet to look for an alternative next year, if we are still playing the current version of this game by then. Not your fault at all Frans. In my experience some courses can be really odd and laggy for some users and not others, or lag in societies and not in 'play now'. Who knows what causes it really, and no way you could've foreseen it. I mean, yeah, it's a shame because I would've went -72 but ah well... Lol

Messed around trying TS again after a long layoff last week. Did okay on the PC leaderboard, so trying my home course (Although now days I prefer to play the North Course, as I'm not a masochist like I was a few years back) which is pretty cool in a tournament setting. Shot -3 / -5, which looks to be good to play the weekend. Still trying to figure out some of the camera controls on the greens though. M&K doesn't make it super easy and there's situations with long putts where I can never get the cam behind the hole, which makes a hard game mode just that much harder. Oh well, still kinda fun and maybe the chatter I see on Twitch about playing TS really teaching you how to putt on the regular tours will pay off.

Here's me thinking I'll be getting a call from TGC authorities. They'll be wondering how one finishes tied 22nd last week (my first top 25 in here after 54 weeks of trying and grinding) and now is so painfully inept. They might want to check for performance enhancers, or maybe they'll try to examine my brain for how it functions. You know, since one week I seem to have it all figured out, and the next I've got no idea about seemingly anything.
Round 1 had all the good potential and finished -4. Probably the only notable highlight this whole week happened on hole 6: I was in the heavy stuff, looking to pitch out and go for birdie, no matter how unlikely that might be. Well, the pitch animation got stuck on me and I tried to figure out ways to solve it. I end up accidentally swinging a very poor pitch shot anyway, that traveled maybe 10 yards. So now I'm able to downgrade from a pitch to a flop, another really poor attempt (I red fasted it). However, just as soon as I had finished breathing out in disgust of the shot, the ball had somehow gone in for birdie for probably the strangest 2 shot pairing I've ever seen. Or maybe this stat is even stranger. Longest made putt for the round: 4.9 feet. WTF?
Round 2 was just weak sauce. -2. Nothing of note. -1 front with couple bogeys, -1 back with one birdie.
If -6 at the cut somehow makes it, which I heavily doubt but you never know, finished -5, -5 for -16 for the week because I just decided to wrap this pain fest up quick. The last two rounds were a little better but not great either. At least it sometimes felt like I knew what I was doing there.
Oh well, came crashing down from the huge heights I had built for myself. Was sort of expecting something like this last week after a career best and instead gave myself another, but this effort came about a week later than anticipated. This course still seems to enjoy kicking my teeth in, one by one. Darn.
Until next week, cheers!

Horrible 1st round, was fighting tempo issues to end up with a plus 11. Played the 2nd round anyways but I knew it would take a miracle. On to next week......

Played on PS4 and didn't notice any lag issues apart from once on the tee during the first round. I thought that was a good challenge this week where -6 or -7 in a couple of the rounds felt like a satisfactory job and not a disaster like some previous weeks so overall very happy to get it to -27 overall. Just checked my GIR and it was 72.2% for all 4 rounds. No sure if I should be content with the consistency or disappointed with how low it was considering my driving accuracy was a lot higher...

After missing an 8' putt and watching it go 38' past the hole, I said screw it after 8 holes. Obviously I'm not the target audience (ie a pro player). On to next weeks 18 hole TST adventure. I don’t think it’s so much whether players of our standard are the target audience, I’m sure the target audience of the TST Admin is more the merrier. It’s just that it attracts so many Pro Tour level players that even with a cut line of 80 it’s a constant struggle. I love the set up and the course choices are spot on but sadly each week I get that little more demoralised. 3 cuts in 18 outings is a poor return!!

I wouldn't put to much stock in whether you make the cut or not. TST is a gridless Pro tier society. CC players venturing into TST shouldn't have any more expectations than if they ventured into any of the other Pro societies. I just play my 1 - 2 rds and move on.

I think I'm just becoming tired of being so uncompetitive. I've never had any expectations and was chuffed to make the cuts I did. Shame there isn't something more geared to CC standard. Just my personal feeling, I'm sure most players are happy just to play along.

Having to rush my rounds atm which doesn't help (real life calls on my time). Always enjoy going round Pebble. Missed some silly putts trying to play quickly today but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter. Still got my 2 rounds in.
