This week we are headed to a links course, Kildonan New, by SkinniePost. Skinnie is a great designer who has been around for years. His courses are all well known for their level of detail and his dedication to realism in his environments. This time he set his sights on a links course for the latest design contest in the dream team, and even though he is competing on the opposite team from me, I still regrettably really enjoyed this one. The contest entry is actually called "Olde Kildonan" which is a twist unlike many courses we have seen before because it is meant to simulate play from way back during hickory clubs and overgrown fairways. Skinnie used light rough as fairway on the "olde" version and it is quite short. He encourages people to not use driver on it at all. I thought you guys might try to burn me alive if I put that one on tour and you were hitting shots from the "rough" fairway all day... Luckily, he also made Kildonan New, which is the same course, with fairway for fairway, and a longer set of tees to challenge our big drivers. Still fun. Still quirky. Still skinnie. I think this one will be a lot of fun. Enjoy! Side note, don't do this often, and I apologize for not pointing out our winners all the time, but congrats to last week's winner Himo. Would recommend following him on twitch as he provides plenty of 2k21 entertainment every week. As always, if you stream your rounds, feel free to advertise them here. I know we have a lot of streamers in Elite and it is always fun to watch you guys grind through the week and it was really fun to actually get to watch someone win the event live.

So far a really good challenge through 2 rounds this week. Lots of long par 4’s into and the 270 yard par 3 into the wind gave me some fits as well. Let’s see where 56-59 (-25) leaves me after the cut.

Well I royally sucked this week, first round was an extremely frustrating -5, frustrating because after opening the round with two birdies, the majority of birdie putts from then on kept missing by millimetres, one after the other in an ugly procession towards the bottom of the leaderboard. Second round wasn't much better at -8 so I won't be there for the weekend and will probably pick up a red mark or two as well.
I will probably play the final two rounds anyway because I did like the course.

First week in Elite and I already experienced the full range of ups and downs. From "Yeah!" -14 R1 to "Bleurg!" -3 R4 in just four rounds. Welcome back I guess.

Great course. Had me thinking on pretty much every drive and every approach, despite the width on offer. Nowhere near good enough in round 2 to make the cut but great track nonetheless.

Hopefully good enough for a promo point!
