Dear TST enthusiasts, This week the IRL PGA Tour travels to the PGA WEST/Pete Dye Stadium course in La Quinta, CA. Like last week, this course is not available in 2K21 and therefore I am taking you to a similar style (Links) course in California: The Reserve @ Spanos Park CA [L]. The wind gets up, dies down, gets up again and the greens are no pushover but they are not overly difficult either. Therefore, the Greenskeeper has decided to speed them up a bit over the weekend. Good luck and have fun! Frans PS Just a gentle reminder to all that if you make the cut, you need to finish all four rounds... as explained here.

Solid dependable Volvo chasing the Lambourghini's. Took a swim on the 18th with a slow out of nowhere!! Perhaps I was just tiring. Lovely course choice again. Enjoyed my 2 rounds but no fear of me not finishing all 4 rounds as this effort won't be making any cut!! Onward!!!
Round 1 -6 Round 2 -5

One Humph in 36 holes (was distracted by the lovely Mrs. V), did bounce back on the next hole. Agree about the course. Think folks will be going low. Round 1 -10 Round 2 -8 Might make the cut? Will see, but might crank out 3 & 4 in case. Onward!

With my cut score looking like it might make it, I decided to crank out 3 & 4 so I don't have another oops.
Was Humph free (or is that Humph Phree?) on the weekend, so that is nice. -9 & -7 to finish -34, might be a record in TST for the Mayor of CC-C.
Onward!
EDIT: It is a record! By 5, beating a -29 in TST season 2020 at the QCD Shootout. Good enough for a T48 and $12,633. Had 7 Humphs that week.
Onward!

Had a 9 footer on the 72nd hole to go 4 x -13's but slid it by to finish -51. Might go top 10?!? Cheers

So, to my surprise, somehow took home T-30th place last week against all odds. That entails that it's my best ever finish in TST, and yes that includes EVERY event I have taken part in including alt events, which had the previous best one.
So, how in the hell do I follow up from there?
Simple: by probably the most spectacular opener I've ever had! -12 first round which could have been better if I could land eagle chips. That's just greedy mentality though which got made up for nicely.
And then how do you follow THAT up? -13 for round 2, including a neato highlight for a first for me in TST and my 3rd ever. Sitting at 25 under par, currently as I type 6TH PLACE overall. Which to me is unheard of, never before seen! No worries about any cuts this week, I'm going for something insanely big this week instead. Must be that beastly energy I'm getting for being 666th in TGC WGR this week... and yes, that's actually real.
Oh, and the highlight from round 2? Well, check it out:

This Cinderella story lasted 3 rounds and then sadly crashed a little in the final round. -10 in round 3 that was basically saved by a pair of eagles, one on the first hole from a pitch shot out of the bunker from almost 50 yards. Putting kind of didn't help much since I missed some by a little. I guess my early round success was explainable by being in the putting stat lead through 2, and considering how lost I can be with putting in TST that is some wild stuff. Then the fortunes weren't that much in my favor and only scraped a -7 to finish. Not necessarily all bad, execution was just lacking. Expectations may have crushed me under their weight this week, I know I went into these last rounds nervous as heck since being in top 10 pace after 2 rounds and still in good pace after 3 is totally new to me here and came completely out of nowhere. Like, seeing myself tied with the number 1 player in the world ranking on the normal tours with the exact same 2 round scores... just wow. However, -42 with no bogeys is still nice and hoping for a high finish, gonna be greedy once and hope for a career best for the second straight week! Probably won't happen, but I dare to dream. I might be slightly disappointed now that I didn't get all the way through, but this week showed that as long as things are clicking well, I can play super well. Hopefully this won't be the first and last time I can dance with the top guys and gals of the tours and this is only the beginning of it all, since I'm already looking forward to a rematch! Got some scores to settle with next week's course from last season, hopefully I continue this form there too. Until then, cheers and good luck!
