I've been on CC for just a little over a year now (CC-G). I play on Xbox Series X.
Lately, out of sheer boredom, I've been playing all of my CC rounds back to back to back to back. I'm really starting to think that this is a bad idea. For instance, I just played this week's tournament and shot -11 in the first round. Tempo was pretty decent so I kept on to Round 2. I was moving right along -6 thru 10 and then the next three holes each of my second shots were SLOW - cost me back to back bogey's - after that it derailed my round and I shot -5. I was so pissed that I raged golfed the last two rounds and shot -3, -3.
What does everyone else do for each week? Should I only play 1 round at a time? Practice shots before taking my real shot? It's my iron play that's really struggling. I can't get any consistency. Just curious what everyone else did and maybe I could pick up a few tips to improve.

What I normally do is only play one round in my actual tour in a session, as I usually find I start to lose concentration the longer I play, and that leads to bad shots, missing easy putts etc. I also play with a couple of ghosts with turn order on, so I get a little break between shots, like you would in real golf.
If I feel like playing more than one round in a session I'll just go to one of the other tours societies and play there. That way if I have a bad round it doesn't really matter.

Usually 1 round at a time. My "warmup" is on course, so it could be 6 holes or could be a full round before I even take my first official shot. Frequently, I may do a second round right after, but that's largely in situations where the conditions (particularly the greens) are in a similar state. Warming up on the course for me is about 2/3 about getting into a putting rhythm and 1/3 getting an idea of routing, so when the speeds are variable between rounds, I can be cautious about rushing into a new one. Rarely I'll do all 4 in an afternoon/evening but those are usually due to outside circumstances.

Series S here - I play a practice round first, usually Beer League then jump into CC. I almost always play two rounds, unless my tempo starts leaking oil. Then I'll stop and come back. Invariably, by the end of round two, I'm starting to get more tempo variance. But I think it's really specific to the player. I see high-level players on Twitch that play all four rounds at once and others that play just the two and the other two after they make the cut.

Try out some different things and see what works for you. I've played all four (or eight including true sim) rounds first thing on a Sunday going back to the start of TGC2. Just habit for me now.
Same with practice swings. I've tried them. Sometimes I think it helps others it doesn't it's probably just me being on or off that day and I've found playing quick to suit me better so I don't bother with them.
Just generally then on Xbox club choice should basically be longest driver shortest wedges and fill in the gaps as you like between them. Just because of how the tempo points are for us anything else is a disadvantage. Even add me as a ghost and copy my bag (although I don't use a lob wedge because I'm an idiot lol).
And the big one for me is to kind of have two shots in mind. So say 90% of my shots are perfect or grey fast so I'm almost half-expecting or guarding against that grey when setting up.
Hope that helps!

Haha That's my thinking for dropping the LW too Mart. Although dansamp is right that it kills me on some tough designs for sure not having a mega short splash. Hope you're good man. I've been playing a lot less lately so haven't been in 4LW in a while to see how you're getting on these days.

Yeah I guess that is true but I feel like I get by OK with the SW - I don't splash outside of bunkers and find I can get good enough partials with SW for tight lies. I'm good cheers. Haven't played Online Societies for ages. Unfortunately they just don't excite me any more and just gets boring. Trying to stomach solo mode but the bugs are starting to really irk me! Shame as I really like how the game plays and enjoy playing a round or few on it.
