Hey all! So I have a few tour worthy courses that I made early in my career as a designer and I think I could really improve them with some changes to sculpting, planting, lighting, and more. Then I could republish. Does anyone do this? Now that I have been designing for a year I see some areas in early courses that I could really make a whole lot better with a week or so of work.

Personally, I leave my completed courses as is...no matter their TGCT status. I guess I'd rather look to future ideas and designs instead of working on older courses that have already seen the light of day.
Plus, if they were already rated as "Tour Worthy", I'm not really sure what the goal of the improvements would be. Because they'd already be in the database and marked as TW, you can't really resubmit it for play here, unless it was a design ported from a previous TGC game.

There are just a few of my courses which have not been chosen for tournaments that I feel like I could make some improvements on.

The thing is, it's my understanding that there is a large backlog of Tour Worthy courses already in the database. And you can't resubmit a course that's already in there - tgctours.proboards.com/thread/5853/attention-designers-submit-version-course. So if you're doing the updates for fun, sure...go for it! But if you're trying to take a course that's already Tour Worthy and update it so it gets on Tour...I don't really think that's feasible.

I sometimes play the ones from a few months back and just think "damn I could do this way better!"

Here's a question: I also have some completed courses (approved, not tour worthy) that I'm thinking about doing some redesigning in spots and then republishing. These courses were created before I joined the forums. Obviously, I wouldn't submit them again on the TGC Tours database, but would it be ok to add them to the Completed Courses thread (since they were created before I joined the forums)? Let me know if that makes sense.

Some reimagine past courses as sort of "sequels". It's a new course but heavily inspired by a past design. Players usually want new and different:
