I'm a big, big fan of this course. Really subtle in its land movement but you nailed the strategy and environment. Love me a good sandbelt course and this is right up there! Great stuff

This is my entry to the 2021 Dream Team contest. Based loosely on a sandbelt theme with green and fairway surfaces running directly into some fairly deep bunkers throughout the course. Plenty of width on offer and firm and fast fairways mean the 7,223 yards plays significantly shorter than it should. I've tried to keep the greens playable but there are a fair few pins where coming in from the right angle will yield an easier approach and on several holes the ideal spot in the fairway will differ depending on tee-set in play ( in theory). Recommended to play into a southerly wind and from the white tees for a decent test. Bumping for the most British of opening posts ever. Don't downplay it - from the pictures, it looks like you nailed the look and I'm excited to play this one when I get to it.

What a quality track. The sand belt theme is a ripper because its quintessentially Australian. Great looking plot i.imgur.com/KP6WtdS.jpg with the rows of housing and city in the background. Cool clubhouse i.imgur.com/t2Oous4.jpg with the alfresco decking. I've seen a lot of sporting grounds mixed in with the plots, but this one will strike fear into all the English in the comp - a couple of Cricket pitches i.imgur.com/w3j87j6.jpg. Even have the creases. The view from the first transition shot is great i.imgur.com/TQD1b0Z.jpgThose beautiful wide fairways, those wonderfully sculpted bunkers, those undulations on the greens, I can see tour worthy in your future. The bunker spline used as a path keeps the walkways subtle rather than a brick or stones. Can't wait to crank up the greens and the wind and this will be a great challenge. I got lucky with a long bunker shot on 12 for eagle. The course plays so smooth with only a couple of tiny bunker lips being a little un-smooth, but nit-picking, the planting and overcast lighting gave it a very Melbourne feel. 5 stars!

Great job Jon loved the course reminded me of South yarra a bit. Planting and strategy were all there along with those bunkers which I found on nearly every hole especially on 14 which bit me on the arse taking a 9. Good luck in the comp mate.

Great work Jon and it looked and played fantastically well. You are way to modest with regard to your design ability.

Loved my round here Jon. The word that coems to mind is clean as I play as everything about this course is precise and just very cleanly done. The planting is incredibly natural and the scultping and surfacing around the sandbelt bunkers is done flawlessly. This isn't a easy style and you pulled it off beautfully here.

cd06 - Thanks for taking the time to play it Charlie. Pleased you enjoyed it. b101 - I've not exactly sold the course in the intro have I?! But I'm pleased I gave you something to mark when you were on your Christmas break :-) Looking forward to getting your thoughts when you get chance. sandgroper - Thanks for posting your round and your kind words. I'm pleased you found the cricket pitches but given I'm a huge England fan, I think we'll leave talking about cricket there, right now... You're spot on about the bunkers - there's a couple that I wish I could do again but I reckon I could have spent another week on just the bunkers and still not been completely happy with them. The bunker shot on 12 was insane by the way! lostsoulsforeva - Cheers for the play Jay - your thoughts are always appreciated. How the hell you managed a 9 on 14 I've got no idea! Looking forward to seeing your next course once the DT release traffic has died down a little. aeastwood54 - Thanks Al. I'll be less modest at the point it wipes the floor with some blue team lamb to the slaughter #RedOrDead trailducker - Pleased you enjoyed the round and the planting as it took an age to get it all done!

Really enjoyed this one leecey, it may be easier than I typically enjoy on sandbelts but the environment is definitely perfect. Curious how this will do in it's matchups

Hey mate I have only just found this course this evening and it's the best sandbelt course I've played here. Really great stuff. I live in the heart of the sandbelt and play the courses regularly, this captures Melbourne really beautifully.
