Dear TST enthusiasts, First of all, happy New Year and may 2022 bring you everything you wish for! This week, the IRL PGA Tour starts up again and they play their Tournament of Champions at the Kapalua Plantation course. Unfortunately, this course is no longer available in 2K21, so I picked a course with similar elevation changes, equally challenging greens and IMO a course that deserves to be on our tour: Poppy Hills in Pebble Beach. I've also tried to give you conditions that are similar to those you would find at Kapalua. Last week I managed to keep all of you from going really low - can I do it again? Seriously though, whatever scores you get, I hope you'll enjoy this lovely course, the way I set it up and have a great start to the year. Good luck and have fun, Frans PS Unfortunately, there's been a slight hiccup in setting up the tournament this week and, as a consequence, the first round is played from the front tees. I suggest you use this round to go low...

Do I detect you are still full of the New Year spirit and have gone a little soft on us Frans fransslabak ? My first TST round in the 50’s. Almost afraid to go back out there for Round 2 because the only way is down!! Another beauty of a course.

Normal service resumed in Round 2. My best showing so far at the cut but doubtful this will be good enough. All my own fault, messed up a couple of the par 5's and failed to take a few short putts in Round 2.
Round 1 -13
Round 2 -5

I'd love to take credit for that but... those front tees were not my instructions to mighty Matt10, so he's the one going soft on you guys...

Took me a few holes to gather myself but got on a roll with a -17. Someone will go -20+ in Rd1, no risk. Ok'ish Rd2 but 4 shots off the PC leader. 3 putted from 6ft on the 17th in Rd3 and thought that was my tourney....stuck 3 shots behind PC leader. Had a really good final round and needed an eagle on the last to take the lead. That approach killed me every round....my 4 iron bounced on front of the green (with some back spin dialled in) and ended up at the back of the green 42 yds away. Then flopped her in for a 3 to snag the PC lead by 1 shot at -54. -16 in Rd4. Good fun and the ol' fists went in the air when that last shot dropped. Dunno what my son thought!?! Great TST course with plenty of course management required and slopey greens that both gave good assists and tested you around the cup. Barreled plenty of putts firmly in. Cheers

-47 this week (14,11,9,13). Really enjoyed the course again. Felt like I left a few out there round one on those favourable tees but by the same token that -13 to finish felt like a fantastic score.
Play well folks!

Even when they will go even lower lol. 40s?!?!? That's too low for me, will stay inside where it is warm. Played this course many times but never from these tees, almost didn't recognize it! With a well earned G&T by my side I ventured out. Clean -7s outward and inward, happy Pappy I am! Round 2, grindage. 2 chirps and Humph outward, inward looking the same until a furious 4 chirp finish kept me one clear of Mr. Tough. Doubt we make it to the weekend, but will finish if boredom happens. Ownard!

What a week! Absolutely loved the first round. I know it was a mistake and it was the front tees... but for a one off I had an absolute blast with that pitch and putt and put up a stellar -18. Unfortunately, I gave a bunch of strokes away in R2 with a return to bad putting and a -7 card. R3 I turned it back around to score a -10. This round also featured the following highlight, which managed to show the lows and highs of True Sim in one clip. Going from raging on my couch over a missed 5ft birdie (clearly my fault, I rushed it, read the break wrong, and had bad swing plane), to holing out from 140 yards on the very next hole! What a feeling. My first long distance TS hole out. Best strategy is to just not putt, apparently! onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=C78645A5944A8AA4&resid=C78645A5944A8AA4%211645&authkey=AGCATUOTsm-d36AIn R4 I was stellar again, and capped it off with a 74 foot eagle on 18 to take the early XB lead away from Craig. It's funny because I am so bad at putting on TS and was wishing this ball rolled a bit further so I could splash or pitch it... and then I go and hit the putt (complete luck though!!). What a fun tournament, in at -49. onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=C78645A5944A8AA4&resid=C78645A5944A8AA4%211645&authkey=AGCATUOTsm-d36AGood luck all!

Hmm, interesting opener to a new year!
So that round 1 was super fun! Enjoyed having a shot at scoring at every possible chance, didn't do it myself. Even more impressively (or maybe not so), even with all the opportunities to do so, I didn't score a single eagle! So with that in mind, still shot -14 for a career best TST round (heck, almost my best ever round period), with 10 straight birdies to finish the round off. First time I've ever seen a full nine full of birdies or better!
Once we got to the actual course, still played pretty good! Shot -8, one stupid bogey again since I can't stop myself from gathering at least one every week. Still no eagles, but I'd say without those, -22 at the cut is a fine, fine score and should see me through to the last rounds to keep the cut streak going through the changing of the years. Keyword "should", since this is such a unique start to a week and you just don't know what kind of score is needed to make the cut.
Cheers, good luck to the new year!

-8 -1 -5 -7 = -21 Missed cut, but should be good enough for a top 25 finish on xbox.

That sinking feeling when you are perched one shot above the cut line on a Wednesday lunchtime...

Got stuck straight in and finished off with -26 for the week. Mainly thanks to Matt Matt10 having a few too many sherries when he was setting Round 1 up. Just happy to be involved for the later rounds. I'll never be anywhere near the top 50 but it's fun each week trying to make the cut, anything else is a bonus!! And a proper pleasure to get to play all 4 rounds on that course after the birdie fest grind of CC.
