Toyed around with the idea of doing a Hickory Creek renovation, and finally committed to the idea recently. The big question I've had during this process is "how much should I pull out and replace?" So far, I've tried to keep the work light, with most of the work being redoing the bunkers and greens, while moving a few tees/bunkers to make sure the hole concepts work with 2K21 clubsets (as this was designed in TGC2, and is a little outdated). Definitely interested to hear some thoughts on the concept of renovations. Should we be aiming to make the best possible course? Or focus on preserving as many of the key features of the original as possible?

My vote: Try for the best possible course while keeping as much of the original design as possible.
