Week 14 on elite means we are off to Nonza Match Club by Energ1ser . Don’t let the fact that it has no bunkers and built for easier match making in the public lobbies fool you. This is going to be a test in these conditions. No bunkers means the challenge is all in the elevation, the lies, the blind shots and the greens. I always enjoy a good Gizer green but some of these are another level. Should be tons of fun to see if you can tame them. Good luck!

Couldn't play at all until tonight, so I knew I needed to get in R1 & R2 this session. Played a crappy practice round, figured what the hell, let's just go play. Oh boy, that worked out for once. Perfect chip in on #1 from right of the green - had to aim well right to take the break. Judged it perfectly, rolled right in to open with an eagle. Followed that up with four birds to be -6 after 5 holes. Played solidly the rest of the way in R1 to come in at -12 for the opening round.
Went straight into R2, but couldn't quite get it going early. Missed a couple of makeable putts with ghost breaks, was only -1 through 5. Birdied 6 and 7, but then had a horrible 3 putt from inside 20' on 8. That served to get me a little fired up and came home in 28, capped off by a chip in eagle on 18 to finish.
-22 has me currently top 10, but I imagine I'll drop a few spots by the time the cut happens. Now I just need to put together a couple of good weekend rounds for a solid finish, unlike last week where I came apart completely in R3 and finished last of those to make the cut. At least I'm making some progress - that's 4 cuts in a row now!
alejandroacantilado: the PGA is doing a great job of setup, and I think the USGA could really learn from them. The bunkers, the decision to not cut the greens when the wind is up. They have to remember that when they go back to Shinnecock in a few years...
