Off to a wild one this week in Sussex Downs by digitalbunny, one of my personal favorites from last year's World Cup of Design competition and one that I think will offer a fresh challenge this year because of some of the rule changes when it comes to elevation and lie grids here on elite. This course is a ton of fun with big elevation changes, high winds, unique greens and undulations galore. Have fun everyone!

-8 and -10 first two rounds. Probably gonna miss another cut with that effort but the course was fun. I wonder if they've changed the putting or if I'm just going through a slump, a lot of breaking putts don't seem to break as much as they used to, missing a lot of them on the high side of the hole lately.

Yes, yes, f**king yes on the breaking putts. First 3 holes had short downhill birdie putts that had moving pips (albeit slowly) and all went straight. I gotta record some of these babies when I remember....it's bloody infuriating and nearly chucked the coffee cup through the screen. Anyway, set the tone for my first 2 rounds, -17 at the cut and will miss the weekend again.....hopefully no red marks this time.

I haven't thrown anything at the TV yet but my dog stares at me with a concerned look when I yell at the TV 😂 It doesn't make sense to me though, normally a downhill putt on a fast green would break more... even a fast green should break more because the ball travels more slowly over the same distance compared to a slower green, but it seems reversed in this game. The slow ones seem to break more 🤷

Wouldn't give up just yet. Seems like the cut might be trending right around -17 or -18 if I had to guess.

Yeah still inside it at the moment. I'll play the next round today just in case I make it through.

Missed cut, no red marks.
Course overall tee to green was good. Greens were a little goofy with noticeable hard angles here and there. I prefer gradual (natural) changes on the greens. Just an opinion from one person is all. Didn't change my overall opinion of the event, which was that I am not very good at the moment and the course/setup got the best of me.
GL to all with rounds to finish and we'll see you next week!

Oh, Sussex Downs, you lovely bastard of a course. I have a love/hate relationship with this place since last year and it continues to our current tournament. Contemplated skipping this week because I played a few practice rounds and couldn't get a putt that wasn't a roulette wheel chance to make, but went ahead and played R1 last night, R2 tonight. Definitely could have shot better both rounds, but -19 at the cut looks quite safe. Gotta say, some of the greenside embankments and large slopes make it quite difficult to gauge putt percentages. Had one on 7 or 13 - the long par 3 with the big embankment on the right - tonight where my aim marker was so far up the hill, I was just guessing at the correct distance to play it - think I added 24' to the distance to the hole, hit and hoped. Ended in a 2 putt par, so that worked. Got totally bamboozled by a couple of short shots where the wind had far more effect than I figured it would when hitting a pitch shot. Guess I need to practice pitches in very high winds to get a feel for how much distance is lost or gained.
In any case, happy to make the cut for the third week in a row and hopefully can put together some good weekend rounds to move up the leaderboard a bit. Pretty funny that our current leader has 4 demotion marks in Elite - will he get promoted if he wins? I wouldn't want to be in those shoes. I'd probably be asking if I could turn down the promotion to Platinum and just lose all my Elite demotion marks, LOL.

Pretty funny that our current leader has 4 demotion marks in Elite - will he get promoted if he wins? Winners in the Pro tours do not get promoted automatically. Someone with 4 demo marks would get one demo mark erased for making the cut and then 2 further demo marks erased for finishing in the top 7.5% of the field. Net effect would be that they would end up with one demo (red) mark after the week.

-10.. really the best I could do for 36 holes. With 4 strikes against me. I would safely say this is my last event

-10 third round to sit -28 after 3. Might not mean anything yet, gotta wait and see where the cut line falls.

This is a little late, but felt like I had to post it. Two hole in ones on the same hole (#13) in back to back rounds! Definitely a first for me. Finished T6, could have been better if it wasn't for those two bogeys in the first round (one of them was a 4 putt). Great course and I've finally got back to Platinum, where I'm sure my stay will be short lived haha i.imgur.com/r61PLS9.png

Congrats on the hole outs, guessing you will remember that hole for quite a while. And congrats on moving up!
