Hey designers, I've got a length of wall that I want to copy and paste made up of several segments.
So I select a section of wall, click multi-select, select all the bits so I've got all the pieces I need and click copy.
Can I not only move the wall to where I want it but select the height I want to place it at? I need the ability to sink the wall to the right height before pasting. It seems very difficult or I'm doing it wrong.
Any suggestions welcome!

No. When you paste it doesn’t allow you to select it’s height. Literally pasted it to the ground at the same height.

Yes it pastes all the individual pieces at the ground height. So if it’s on a slope they are not aligned anymore.

it's the same for all copy and paste items, like bushes/trees. if you have them buried or sunken, when you copy and paste them, they revert to ground level.

Yep, that's the problem with the copy and paste. Everything reverts to ground level, even if you stacked items like rocks. Note also it resizes everything to the default size, so if you shrunk a rock or tree, it goes back to the default size. I am attempting some rock walls for WIP and it's slooooooow going. True copy and paste would be amazin'

I wonder why it was changed in 2k21,Because i am sure in TGC 2019 if you planted say a row of trees at a certain height level you could copy and paste and it would be the same size and level same with Bridges also for a railway.

In 19 the copy and paste kept everything at the same height in relation to the base layer. If you copied an object and tried to paste it 10' downhill it would be 10' above the terrain. So they fixed it in 2k21 to snap everything to the terrain level. It's still not perfect but much more useable. Hopefully it gets tweaked even more in the next version.

Just a personal view i feel its worst in 2k21 than tgc2019 i suppose it could be how you use it and what for.

It's kind of annoying, tbh, as I discovered while making my ruin for the course I'm working on. I hoped I could just lay down ring after ring and build it up, but because the copy paste pastes it at ground level, I realized pretty quickly that wouldn't work. So I had to do it brick by brick (TEDIOUS!). I totally get why they did it though, I just wish that for multi-select you could raise the elements before pasting them to synch them up.

I find it annoying that you can't copy and then paste over and over like every other copy paste function in other programs. Having to re-copy every time is a drag.
