This week we are headed down under with South Yarra by b101. This challenging sandbelt Australian style course offers a ton of difficulty, but the answers are all right in front of you. Find the right angle, or use the right slope and these tricky greens can be had. Miss, and you will most likely be falling into one of the many greenside sandbelt bunkers that are cut directly into the green in this region of Australia. Harsh. But a fun test. Good luck everyone!

Well that was a disappointing first round. Wanted a good showing this week to get rid of my red thing, and do well in a 'home' tournament but opening with a 67 I'll probably miss the cut and may end up with more red things unless I can shoot the lights out in round 2 today.

I did much better in the second round. I think the in between green speed messed my putting up a bit in the first but I also hit better approaches in the second, and left myself more straighter birdie putts. 60 was the round score, to sit -17 at the halfway point. Was almost a 59 but my birdie putt on the 18th just decided to sit right on the edge of the hole and not drop in.
Inside the cut at the moment but that could always change.

Hopefully people who struggle here can find some luck in the promo event! I played it with the hopes of getting up to plat, just to clear all my red marks at once, ha! Then immediately come back from up there with a fresh start. But... I couldn't quite get it done. Will finish short of even getting to -50 in the promo event.

Looks like this will be my last event in elite. Sitting at 3 red marks, and at the bottom of the field at -11 for 2 rounds. That should give me 2 red marks and kick me from this tour. Gave it my best, just not up to everyone else’s abilities

Shot 66 in the third round. Still hanging on inside the cut line, I'll play the last anyway but hopefully it's not to no avail.

Bloody hell, just dropped out of the cut by a stroke. That's three weeks in a row now.. stupid crappy first round. At least I'm not low enough on the leaderboard to get any more red marks.

Gave it my best, just not up to everyone else’s abilities Only takes 3 promo marks to get back! Can be done in two weeks of kinetic, good luck! --- Little post cut update for everyone else. I was sort of using this course as a test. A little experiment with 120+ innocent subjects. We used this course, a tough course, with almost these exact conditions last year during this same "Down Under" week. This year I actually cranked the winds a bit more than last year too. And it still didn't matter. The score needed to make the cut was doubled. -9 made the cut last season. -18 made the cut this week. Wild times with this pro swing for sure. Not really sure there is much that can be done about it at this point. Courses like South Yarra are plenty difficult in my opinion and in all the right ways. And it still doesn't matter on the scoreboard. I never want to start picking only courses with 15 yard wide fairways everywhere, or ridiculously over the top greens. So it seems this range of scores is about where we are going to find ourselves the rest of the season. Buckle up and make those birdies!

Very good course - played it several times before. Hats off to b101 for another great track. Shot 63-63 to make the cut again this week after getting back into town Tuesday afternoon, but felt like I left at least 6 out there in R2 with easy misses on the greens and that damn 8th hole. Just barely put one off the back of the green in 2, lipped out the chip, which continued all the way into the bunker, splash out, make par. Came back Wednesday and had a horrendous R3. Had several early chances to get the scoring going that just missed one way or another, got annoyed, played the middle of the round like trash and was +1 through 10 holes before going -4 the rest of the way to salvage a 69. Went straight into R4 since I wasn't going to be anywhere near the top and got hot suddenly, going -8 on the front but couldn't quite keep it going and ended up shooting 61. That should move me up a few spots, but likely going to be somewhere around 40th, which seems appropriate given the average at best play this week.

When you miss the cut then shoot a 57 in the final round... would have tied for 26th if I'd made it 🙄
