Dear TST enthusiasts,
After two challenging weeks, you deserve a break. Therefore, this week's tournament - the Bahamas Challenge - is organised at Port Royal Yacht Club. What better environment to unwind and play some golf. Greens are more benign and temperatures are pleasant. Obviously, there is a bit of a breeze but nothing too silly. The GreensKeeper might have gotten a little enthusiastic in round 4 with trying to prevent you low-scoring beasts from shooting -20 by cutting them rather short and thus making them a bit slippery. But surely, in this relaxing environment, your putter will be able to handle them.
Good luck and have fun, Frans

I won't bother reporting my scores because no one is interested in the bottom quarter of the leaderboard but just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the course again. Really look forward to these TST rounds despite my lack of skill. Fair play Frans fransslabak your course choices keep me gagging for more. Proper players. A real fill yer boots week for you.

Aye that SkyBlueBen. Plenty of dart throwing in Rd1. Lipped out from 5ft on the 1st and thought "here we go again" but then didn't par another hole until the 12th I think. Ended Rd1 at -16, then dropped a -14 in Rd2 and sitting atop the PC leaderboard. Sunk a few 30+ft bombs for eagles. Anyway, moving day and I dropped back with a -10....as ya do when Loveskud's on fire. Finished off really well with a -15 and got to -55 but still trail on the PC leaderboard....but pretty happy. Cheers

Really enjoying the mix of courses and setups Frans. Choked away a number of short putts in round 4 that might have me regretting them, but was able to get to -49

Opened with a pair of 8s, or what the Posh People shot in the first round alone. But mine was clean, so I have that going for me.
Great job Frans, keep it going!
Onward!

Slowly getting back into TST after a long multi-year hiatus. Fun Stuff! Enjoying the challenge and thankful for somewhat level greens this week.

-10 1st round. Decided to play round 2. 1st swing was a very (very) red fast. Next shot, a slow with a path going like 7 to 1.
Over the next 10 holes it was a smorgasbord of very red fasts, slows, squiggle lines, etc. It was if I've never played the game before and started on Legend. I tried closing the game and restarting. It helped, but a lip out or two later and I had had enough.
It's really hard to like/enjoy this game at times.

I think it was my 2nd round I was trying to keep quiet. All of a sudden my putting went back to week 1 on the back 9!! Finished up a rather disappointing -5 at the cut. I suppose it's a sign of progress that I'm disappointed with an under par score, a number of weeks ago I'd have sold my soul for it!!

For me TST has always been like a doomed love affair. You know it isn't working but you keep going back in the mistaken belief that this time things will be better. Week after week I would end up screaming abuse at the inanimate controller and screen as yet another 4 foot putt f**ked off at right angles and another promising start collapsed into ignominy. Week after week I would vow that I would not put my self through this agony again but I kept coming back for more. Some of my oldest friends in Pixel Golf seemed to be enjoying it and I really liked the challenge of a more realistic form of video golf. Ferchrissakes! if the least patient player I know, SkyBlueBen, can get under par and Art Vandelay can succeed using a mouse (which must be like typing on a smartphone in boxing gloves) there must be hope for me. The move to pro difficulty did remove a large portion of the mis-hits but last Sunday I was invited to a round with our scheduler and my regular Friday evening Stableford opponent fransslabak, who incidentally is probably the least gracious winner I have ever encountered. This was a 'Road to Damascus' moment for me. He introduced me to several camera settings that I had never discovered in more than two years of playing the game and suddenly some of the fog of war was lifted from my reading of the greens. It was less Stevie Wonder and more an old lady with cataracts. I was a little disappointed to only make it to -5 for the first two rounds but that represents massive progress. There were a couple of self-inflicted blunders in shot choices coupled with several Brazilan putts shaving the hole but it was real progress. If you take into account a four-putt double bogey from no great distance and couple of aquatic excursions I was really pleased to have two rounds under par and can't wait for next week.

Well, after 3 stabbing the very 1st hole for a bogey , I initially thought 'great one of those weeks huh?" Anyway things progressed, I plodded along (Chasing TROWELHEAD _ ) and I think I will make the cut and I proceeded to finish the best I have in a while (also beating Nath ) Rd1:-8 Pars, 8 Birds, 1 Eagle, 1 Bogey = 63 (-9) Rd2:-8 Pars, 9 Birds, 1 Bogey = 64 (-8) Rd3:-10 Pars, 7 Birds, 1 Eagle, Bogey Free =63 (-9) Rd4:-9 Pars, 8 Birds, 1 Eagle, Bogey Free = 62 (-10) Event:-35 Pars, 32 Birds, 3 Eagles, 2 Bogeys = 252 (-36) Good Luck All, Play Well. Oh by the way, had this added bonus in Rd3

Great read Greg. I'll always be the most impatient player you know and still am!! Can't be arsed faffing around with all those camera angles which is why I probably haven't kicked on from making a cut. But the flag stick trick was a godsend and I can't remember the last time I missed a putt from 5 feet. Still Billy Whizz around the course even at TST but loving Frans' course picks and having a lot of fun trying to stay under par!! These are the rounds I look forward to every week.

Most of my best shots are with bad tempo!
