Hi all, I had the pleasure of playing one of my favourite tracks again the other day - The Berkshire, Red featuring the stunner of a Par 3 10th. 185 yards over a heather ravine and every time I step on the tee, it blows me away. This is by no means a world beater but what's the best short hole you guys have had the privilege of playing? (Bonus points if you're photo is good enough to in Golf Porn Monthly 😂)

The best par-3s that I've played are either Hole 7 at Lawsonia - Links Course (photo taken by yours truly)... ...or Holes 3 or 13 at Whistling Straits - Irish Course (not my photos): Hole 3 Hole 13

Best par 3 hands down! Royal Melbourne West no.5. Have been fortunate enough to play this MacKenzie classic. 5 iron into RHS centre trap. From bunker short and just under hole to about 6ft. Putt for par! The photo sort of doesn't do it justice as men's tees are at same height as green and a valley between tee and green. Watched Greg Norman at an Aussie Open, back when it attracted quality international players, come up short for a front pin. Ball rolled back down front apron and he holed the chip. Crowd went mental! My god those were the days in Australian golf.

Another from overhead. Pure sandbelt! (Sorry a little small I know)

And then you have the greatest short three in existence...

I have to choose 2, which are around a mile from each other. 1: the sixth at National Golf Links. Such an amazing short hole, where the green is effectively 3 small ones with a giant ridge in the middle 2: the eleventh at Shinnecock. "The shortest par 5 in golf" is such a beast of a hole, particularly with the prevailing wind making it downwind and really hard to hold. I've purposely bailed into the front bunkers and tried to scramble for par rather than face going over the back.

Those photos above aren't mine, but I have photos of the great (and oft-reviled) Redan 7th and a view from the clubhouse at Shinne.

My favorite is hole 2 at Colorado Golf Club - Stupid hard short par-3. There's nowhere to miss. The green is tiny and slopes severely from back to front. A bunker shot from the back is an awkward down hill sand shot that's near impossible to stop and any bunker shot or pitch from the front means hitting to up to a green which is at eye level with you. I could hit shots into and around this green all day long. Very punitive! Honorable mention to the 16th at TPC Scottsdale. It's a LOT less intimidating without the stands around it but a beautiful par-3 in any case.

Hole 8, Ozarks National, C&C Course, absolutely stunning, and a pretty hard hole.

Impossible to choose just one. All my pics: Only birdie in the round Scale hard to show of the redwoods at Northwood some have argued PD has the best set of par 3s of any course in the world. My favorite 18th hole par 3 And finally an absolute beast from my home course in Kansas City. Not really short at 230y lol but downhill ~80 ft makes it a very fun hole.

The 13th at Muirfield is up there for me. I love an uphill par 3 and this one is just about perfect. Also the 9th at Ria Bintan. Just a beautiful hole. Those two are obviously not my photos. Here's one I took a couple weeks ago, at The Grand, in Queensland. It may not be quite the best par three in golf, but it's damn nice:
