Now that HB have eventually sorted the swing out, how do people feel about which swing difficulty to play?
Do people still think pro is best? If so, why? Do some people even prefer Legend now that it’s perfectly playable?
I was playing on Master swing for my offline career averaging about 71 strokes per round. The swing wasn’t too hard per se, it was just too penalising if you were off tempo. So because of that, Pro felt too easy and master felt too frustrating and the game felt annoying.
Now, after 8 rounds so far on the new swing update, i feel master is just perfect for my standard (extremely average sim player Ive shot 2 over par rounds, 2 par rounds, 4 under par rounds). Some of the better players could probably even play legend with not too much drama.
In my career so far with the new swing I have shot;
Bay Hill
77/70/75/70 (+4)
First round I only hit worse than par twice but they were quintuple and triple bogeys when I kept going for the pin and just missing in the water. Should have played safer.
Sawgrass
72/65/71/72 (-8)
My misses are akin to a pros real life misses now and I’m having so much more fun. Long may it continue.
Copperhead
70/69/69/72 (-4)
TPC San Antonio
71/71/75/69 (-2)

Set up a master swing society Luke.4 rounds over a week & I believe you will have plenty of interest 👍

I have no interest in playing on the Pro level. By definition, a true simulation should not allow for regular scores in the 50's and low 60's. I'm a "casual" player (usually 2 rounds per day and no time on the practice range) and I'm on XBOX, and after the swing changes that screwed everything up, I'm usually right around par, sometimes several strokes over par, but sometimes a couple under as well. And I'm not a gifted player by any means, I'm 67 years old with average reflexes. Just my opinion.

I'll share my personal opinion (not as the scheduler for TST):
Yes, I still think Pro swing is the right choice.
That decision was made after careful deliberation and most if not all of the reasons for making that decision are still in place.
There is no way to predict what HB might do to the game over the next few months and no way to prepare/accommodate for that.
Therefore, I feel the best way forward is to give the current settings a fair chance.
If the new season proves to be unsuccessful due to settings used, that would be the time to possibly reconsider, but it is way too soon to reach any such conclusion.

My enthusiasm for the game has taken a big hit. If it was a 1-2 round type thing a couple times a week maybe, but even that I can’t really say. I would just assume I wouldn’t, as I wouldn’t want you to start it up with the expectation that I’d be playing |

As much as I hate the anxiety over missing tempo at the time I’m playing ( I have high anxiety irl lol), after attempting to dabble in pro I see how critical it actually is to the enjoyment of the game. Being able to move both sticks all the way down, and really not even be afraid of a red is just completely silly, imo..especially for TST. As is going for 105% driver all the time without real fear. I know Doyley said it’s not possible for the main tours, but for TST I just fail to see how Xbox on Pro, PC and PS on master doesn’t drastically improve system balance compared to changing everyone. Perhaps it’s not possible for here either, although I don’t really understand why. Oh well. |

To me, with an XB controller on PC, nothing is a given. And it's no good telling me to practice, 700 hours into the game, a great deal at Master level, and I'm still shite  Having said that I have no problem if it was decided that TST should return to Master level because I have a choice whether to play or not. Simple really. |
