For the second time I’ve missed promotion by one stroke 🙄 Last time it happened I missed the cut in next event but this time started with a 65 in fairly windy conditions, birdieing 6 of last 7 holes - maybe I will finally get the promotion at my 20th attempt!

Thanks Chris - unlike you I never seem to perform in the promotion events so I have to plod on like the journeyman I am! Still sitting in the Top 10 at the halfway stage - I may never get a better chance to move on up! I notice you’re on fire at Firestone Lakes this week in CC-D!

I imploded last night, shocking round so out of any running this week! Focus turns to next week and hopefully can get into CC-J by End May!

Hey Richard, Yeah I'm up in CC-D now, hope you don't mind me following the forums here. There seems to more talk in the lower grades and I like that. I often come back here because I remember how tough it felt. I failed to even qualify my 1st week on TGC (with a +22 or something in 1 round). I may be grinning up in CC-D but it's been tough work for me to get there. Sometimes a lot of it can be mental as well, just like the real game. The key for me was re-calibration. Eventually I have got the controller calibration to the sweet spot and it's just a matter of consistency... bit like putting your mind into auto-mode. But even from week to week I need to re-calibrate. Either my controller movement changes week to week, or the game somehow moves it. "On Fire at Firestones" Great pun mate! Yeah 1st week I've clicked in a long time. I'm used to sitting around pos30, so this is unusually nice. I found R.3 really tough. Managed to get up to -46 in the end. Anyway looks like you've had a great week Richard - hope it continues on and up for you :-) Cheers, Chris

It’s interesting to read your comments about recalibration and I know you’re not the only one who thinks it’s important. I think I’ve only recalibrated twice and not at all for over a year. I’m not saying it wouldn’t help, just feel a bit superstitious about changing anything when my scoring has been consistent if unspectacular. But I’ll definitely consider it Well played this week, -46 is a hell of a good score

Yeah like you Richard I was really stubborn for about 2 months. I assumed leaving the calibration as is was the best thing to improve. Basically thinking all I need to do is keep getting used to the current setting. And then one day I logged into my brothers PS4 and my calibration was set to his. All of a sudden I was able to hit perfect so much more. From that point on I have stuck with the re-calibration technique.
I also find that some courses suit my clubset better than others. For example last week, the scores were crazy good. However I was really grinding for a good score. This week, scores have dropped back but this course feels way easier than last week for me.
In the end it doesn't matter what you do as long as you are getting enjoyment from the game, that's all that counts! :-)

Imagine how much more immersed we would be in the game - you could even have a bunch of us arranging to play our rounds around the same time. I love the organisation of the tour but the one thing lacking for me is that sense of playing against the field in real time, seeing yourself moving up or down the leaderboard during a round and feeling the pressure of competition coming down the stretch

I would imagine that type of thing would require the TGC crew to be able to push data to the 2K servers, rather than just pull data.

I would imagine that type of thing would require the TGC crew to be able to push data to the 2K servers, rather than just pull data. I wouldn’t ask for anything that requires extra work for the TGC guys. The most I’m hoping for is the ability, in the next game, to add a ‘favourites’ filter on the leaderboard so you have the option of only seeing the players that are relevant to you. If that function was there I’d happily add players manually (all gamertags are already listed on TGC site) and take them off when they get promoted/relegated. I do appreciate that I may be literally the only person sad enough to do that 😂

It's been discussed multiple times over the course of many years here - in fact, there's a really silly thread out there that's active right now about this...but there is no way that TGC Tours can set up the in-game scoreboard so that only your specific flight's scores show up. It's completely out of their control. Even if they'd set up specific societies for each individual CC flight, anyone can play them so it wouldn't matter. It's just how the game is.

Just to be clear, I was suggesting that if the game itself allowed you to select favourite players and filter the leaderboard through them, then that could be a way of customising the leaderboard for those that wish. Of course that facility doesn’t exist in the current game but potentially could in future editions. I’ve never suggested that TGC Tours could do anything about the in-game leaderboard Sorry if this is going over old ground but I only tend to read the Challenge Circuit forums
