Ugh. 61 and 63 to get to -20 at half way and a comfortably made cut. Another 61 in the 3rd round to put myself in position to make a run at a promo mark. Birdied the first in round 4 and then the wheels came off. Limped home with a very disappointing 72 and another middle of the pack finish. A few pretty borderline naughty pins, especially in round 2, and I'm sorry but I think the graveyard in the middle of the 17th fairway is plain stupid. Shame because otherwise it's a really solid course. Did you read the course description? That was part of the design criteria for the Total Recall contest - "...something 'distracting' near the 16th green and in the middle of the 17th fairway"

I get it, it was part of the concept. A stupid concept I like concept courses, I've made two myself. Also stupid in their own way. Simple fact is, if some designer who isn't part of 'the crowd' makes a course with a cemetery in the middle of the @!$#ing fairway, there's no way it gets anywhere near TGCTours and the 5000 plays that will generate.

Well guess I'll carry on talking to myself in here!
After a bit of a debacle last week which made me put the game down for a few days, managed to regain my tempo a bit this week. A clean card for a 61 in the first round, but second round I simply made too many mistakes. 144's have often been a problem for me but I've been playing the slower greens much better recently. Not today.
68 to be -13 at the cut. It'll keep me interested but I think I'll miss the cut by 2. Shame because I was really enjoying the course.

Missed cut last week but hopefully I've made it this time round. 1st round was pretty strong at -10 and I continued the form into round 2 in tough winds and managed an -8 with a really silly bogey on the last! I was caught between clubs on that one and played a terrible 3 wood approach π€£
-18 at the cut I'm hoping is good enough

Hey all - I'm back playing after a year off - had a long 2 year fall from Platinum tour to CC-B. Loving the new swing, but as they say on TV, "these guys are good!". I hope you all have a great season!

Welcome back @brownief104! I doubt a man with your pedigree will be sticking around at this level for long. A tale of two halves in the first round for me this week. Played really well on the front to turn in 29 and then just couldn't hit a green on the back. Made a couple of clutch par putts to avoid doing any real damage, mid pack 63 to start. Thought the course was very good π A very warm welcome back to the Challenge Circuit to my old friend Chief this week, it's been a while!

It's taken longer than I thought to slide from Elite through Kinetic and now back on the Challenge circuit. Quite happy to be here to be honest, more in line with my (lack of) skill level! Started slow on the front 9 of round 1, but got in the groove a bit on the back 9 and posted a 63, same as you. Thought I would be higher up the board with that, so must be some seriously good players here too. Just hope I can stop the slide and stabilise in CC A for a bit. Good luck to everyone, but not too much.

Yep Chief, you've got to score pretty well to get in the top 20 around here, which is generally where the promotion marks start getting dished out. The cut is usually between -15 and -20 depending on difficulty. This week looks to be -16/-17. Which is good news for me because I've just carded a second 63 to sit at -18. Took the pressure off a little by starting with 6 birds in a row but couldn't maintain that pace. The back 9 has given me trouble in both rounds, made a few birdies this time but also gave a couple back. But I'll take it after a couple of missed cuts

Not too sure how long i'll be able to stay there for, but at least a bit more of a consistent week. Well played on making the cut yourself and a solid position going into the last few rounds, good luck with your 3rd & 4th rounds. I'll be rooting for you!

Played the last 7 holes in this tournament like a world beater. Sadly I'd played the rest of the last 2 rounds like a panel beater. Nice to know I can still get in a groove but far too late to achieve anything of note this week.

Close but no cigar horusphoenix Still great shooting, good luck in Kinetic! Haha, thanks Giraffe72. I could have killed for your finish in round 4. Nice way to finish a tournament mate (especially given the back 9 stretch was the toughest in my opinion) And after i think you had one really bad hole, you recovered impressively. If you show that type of golf, you'll be in Kinetic soon, no doubt. Thanks again Jamie, good luck this week!

Bounced back from missing the cut on the number last week to make it this week, which is no mean feat around here. There's no doubt the Challenge Circuit is a lot more competitive these days than it was when some of us fought our way through it the first time, 5 or 6 years ago!
First round had a bit of everything, two 3-putts, a flop in eagle 2 from 40 yards in a bunker, a 30 foot eagle putt, and a strong finish with 4 straight birds. Second round, oh no the dreaded 144's! What is it with firm 144's? My little brain can't compute them. Last week they cost me a good half dozen shots and a missed cut, this week I missed putts on the first 2 holes including a really easy one on 2 and I thought "Oh no, here we go again." But to be fair from that point I putted really well and got on a bit of a charge, until I just got a bit ragged with my tempo on the closing holes and stalled.
All adds up to a pair of 60's and -22 at the cut. Happy to be playing a couple more rounds but a little disappointed I'm not a bit higher up the leaderboard. Silly mistakes here and there are costing me.
