Oh ya I totally understand that aspect. My question was just specifically regarding the fact that with lie grid off people can be forced into mistakes regardless of skill level because the game doesn't project subtle elevation changes well. So that could be an unfair end-result rather than a challenge because you literally just can't see the slope. I totally understand and agree with you...just wanted to offer my take on why it was done this way. I think it's been mentioned but when you have follow cam you can see quite easily when your ball lands and rolls out if you have a downhill or uphill slope maybe a bit tougher with the Benny Hill cam speed. The ball above or below the feet is obvious to be honest doesn't actually take much time to really see the slopes without grids. Also if you are really struggling change to putter and putting camera and pan around your golfer avatar.

The camera movements can tell you where the ball lies pretty easily.

Well as no lie grid is technically sim, just giving a couple of pointers to those that are new to it.

Will there be some pre season events to play and get more used to the settings before the proper season begins?

Will there be some pre season events to play and get more used to the settings before the proper season begins? Yes, we'll set up 3 more (Platinum, CC and Beer) to finish out this week and see how things sit with the site on the weekend.

I was referring to a full True Sim round vs (old) normal. I'm going back a while but for me a normal round was about 30 minutes but a True Sim was closer to an hour depending on how tricky the greens were and how many camera angles I needed to scrutinise.

Wow. I’m talking about the same. It only takes me 5 mins more than a normal round with grids. 30mins max.

I'm a 15 mins per round player. TST and USE maybe 1-2 mins slower to look at hole map and stalk putts if I feel I need to. Perhaps that's why I'm a middle of the road Plat-Elite player and not up with the big boys. No course notes, green maps or grid counts....just a "feel" player.

I'm really speed golfing to get a round done in 15-20 minutes. Mind you, I'm on Xbox so I'm probably taking an extra 15 shots per round! :-)
