No Tempo might work for beer league.

I’ve seen comments when people joined the Beer League that they expected something like the old beginners tour and were disappointed there was so many highly skilled players there. Having said I’m not sure what kind of numbers you would get. Pro-Am with the meters makes a nice stepping stone though I do wonder whether many lower skilled players will just say sod it and enter the main tour.

I don't think we'll ever be able to keep guys out of the Beer League that are excellent golfers - some like that game play where shooting extremely low is the goal regardless of swing type - so I'm sure that will happen. Nothing wrong with that, but it's hard to convey that to the people shooting even par and wondering why their leaders are 75-under.

Yeah I think the Beer League will have even more highly skilled players enter. Since the main tours have pro swing this will allow those of other skills or less experienced to go to the main. So basically the Beer League will be very elite/premium players or any of those who like the challenge (or frustration) of playing, on something more difficult than pro swing

Before even trying any of these setting, there is no way I would play the Elite settings. There, IMO, should always be some kind of balance between swing plane and tempo here at TGCTours. Considering tempo is probably the best part of my game and I still ended up shooting fine on Legendary difficulty, you would probably assume I would dislike no tempo, but to me it's just really fascinating how differently it plays than other difficulty styles. Just give it at least a try, it's fascinating to me how hard it actually is Agreed! I played in the Elite test event (and I'm in Elite) fully expecting to shoot close to -18 and was +1 thru 5. Pleasantly surprised just how tricky it was...

I still think legendary no tempo is a good option for beer because of simply how different it is that it'll attract players

So after a lot of talk and watching the activity on these threads - I'm in agreement with most that the Beer League as a hard league is not likely to be used much. Tim suggested we go easier and I think it makes sense. Let me know what you all think about the Beer League being the same as the main tours except we turn on the shot meter. Never crossed my mind until he mentioned it but I think it makes more sense with the vibe we are looking for with the name Beer League.
Could still act as a stepping stone to the main tours for those looking to get their feet wet.
No league at all on master setting next season apart from True Sim? This is a shame.

Maybe people would play it if it was like TST where you can play it aswell as and not instead of the Main Tours.
I think Beer League should be harder than the Main Tours, not easier, personally and should be playable aswell as the Main Tours if that is possible. Then it could give people an additional tougher challenge maybe using the old Master Main Tour settings or even up to Legend swing?

My only issue with adding the meters for the beer league and maybe this is me, but I have played so long without the meters, they mess me up by being there. Primarily the putt meter. That being said, I don't ever plan on playing in the beer league, so maybe my opinion doesn't count.

On another note (within XBox), I am seeing people play the test rounds that I haven't seen in TGCT for months

This is the main point of our Beer League - it's a place to play if our main tours are not for you. Since most will be on the main tours and Pro swing is much more accessible to everyone - our Beer League has to have some hook to it that will get people to play that have no interest in our main tours. We've now ruled out a harder swing and think the answer lies in putting the swing marker on and either Pro or Pro-Am swing.

BTW, the two biggest societies on Xbox each have over 75,000 people (probably mostly the same people) but they are Pro difficulty. In addition with bringing people back, you may get an influx of new people.

Had a try on this as i was curious of how difficult it would be. 40something over and will be last lol. These settings and course are cruel yet some players still finished under par.

I'd rather see us go Masters / Legend / No Tempo than pro with meter on or pro am. It'd also be interesting if we removed the cap on one of the other like we do with TST.. but I know that's most likely not possible.

If is try hards can’t keep the master swing on the beer league what’s the point i it if it’s pro swing all the way around? Now you want it even easier if people think pro is too hard? What happened to inclusiveness?
