I’m with the others in here that there’s gotta be some tie in for the new beer league with WGR, otherwise this is all pointless.
Like make beer league an exclusive top 100 WGR league where you can’t get promoted to it, you can only have access if you’re top 100. That way the main tours still matter with the pro swing, but you’re striving to get to the best of the best league by upping your WGR.
There’s gotta be something more than just -70 pro swing platinum events… that’s just pointless.

How do the WGR figure into beer league if that’s going to be the tougher tour? To me and it’s just my opinion, doesn’t make much sense to make platinum easier if that will be the top pro tour. There is no WGR on Beer League. Money list is the go-to for rankings. So the pros (mainly people on platinum) are going to play in beer league to get a challenge but not rewarded comparatively to others? Makes zero sense. Also lot of designers will no doubt start making much more difficult courses. Easy to say your not going to split difficulty between the pro tours but you do so with the beer league. Just make CC pro difficulty and leave the pros to master. I really think that’s how most people would prefer.

I realize that sounds easy to say but it's a pain to admin and implement - just want to make sure it's said firmly that it's not an option.

While I appreciate the effort to standardize the difficulty across platforms, I just don’t understand reducing the swing difficulty at the top level. I thought if anything a bump up to Legend at the top tours would make things more interesting. Going back to Pro changes the game entirely and turns it more into an arcade type IMO. I do think it will attract more people to play but that’s the only positive IMO.

Will it be possible to play in the regular leagues and beer league simultaneously?

Is it going to change so we can play in both beer league and the main tours? I will play the main tours regardless but it would be nice to get the challenge of master settings every once in awhile as well. No, most things on site will remain the same including not being able to play in both the Beer League and main tours at the same time. For you Singer.

Well that's disappointing. Gonna have to shoot -70 on Platinum to have a chance.

That would most likely be the new beer league been said that there won’t be any difficulty changes in the main tour… we’ve tried that and it just doesn’t work. To be successful, the main tours all need to be one difficulty. The only issue I have with Beer League is that we're removing a lot of what makes it fun to play on TGC. There's just no comparison with different tiers and no WGR ranking. It's a lot of fun climbing to the top to compete with the best of the best. I think almost nobody will play Beer League under new settings because people who played masters on the tour wanted to climb as high as they could and have a WGR tracking their progress along with it. It was a competitive decision, and moving to beer league if they wanna stick to those settings will not be rewarding whatsoever.
Anyways, that's my spiel at the end of the day. I will play whatever is decided on the main tour, I'm just speaking for a decent amount of the top players I know. They will make their thoughts known over the next few days I'm sure. I just know almost everyone on plat can hit near 100% perfects on pro and it becomes a pure numbers game of knowing the exact loft/spin you need on everything, instead of how most of us played with hitting a spot close enough while being able to still hit a perfect on masters.
There is totally a money list, which is essentially a ranking system. I think you'll find there is more competition moving to pro level.. there are some former plat players from previous games who may make a return appearance.

Will the money be more in beer league?

I think some of you guys will be surprised just how little the scoring may change on pro settings for the top tours... with the courses selected, the scoring will not change all that much.. a few strokes lower but that's it.
Go play four rounds with the same conditions on the plat course this week....

There will definitely be more competition. It's just a numbers game at the end of the day when tempo is removed as a factor. People with experience will play well. I had to develop that experience very quickly to compete at the highest level. At the end of the day, I am fine with it. But you can't say Beer League is a competitive option when most of the top players will stick with pro because there aren't the same motivating/competing factors. And participation in Beer League will drop off significantly. I'd be extremely surprised to see enough people play in it to warrant keeping it running if it's masters or legends. (Maybe legend/no tempo will attract a few more people because of it's uniqueness)

At the end of the day.. we need a difficulty level between pro and masters.. but when there is 1600 people to worry about, we can't go worrying about 50...
