Just checking splash is from sand only yeah, not heavy rough also? right, that is the USE rule - splash can only be used from bunker - the only shot type you cannot use in bunker is chip - everything else is good. You doing Pro or Master Craig? or both? |

It's crazy how the follow cam being off makes the game feel completely different, it draws you right in trying to squint and see what bounce you get and working out where you'll end up. Also surprising just how much I rely on seeing the approach shot roll on the green when reading my putts. Then not having splash from heavy rough - even as someone who partial pitches 80% of the time anyway - really makes you think about your misses and lay-ups. I was much more hesitant to just have a swing at par 5's in two knowing that an up and down from a big slope in the rough would be very difficult. As it should be in truth. And relatedly, as for the rounds themselves, the par 5's killed me. They were really gettable and unfortunately I just didn't take advantage in rounds three and four. Lovely course though, fairly certain I'd played it before. Brilliant first week. Really enjoyable set-up guys! |

I could only muster a -8 - but I also don't play SIM too often, looking to get better. I feel I'm reading the greens better now than in the past though.. |

The reason splash is banned (not from bunker though) is because the shot is overpowered and actually takes the skill out of 13 to 30 yard shots imo. They did reduce the ridiculous backspin in a previous patch but it is still way too easy compared to a partial pitch or flop. Yes it's a totally different experience with a fixed cam, remind me of a hole out I had from 93 yard irl which was uphill and I couldn't see the pin. Imagine my surprise when I found out the ball was in the cup after walking to the green and wandering if I overshot it in the rough behind the hole. A great sim community we have and it's great to have 2 new Xboxers who enjoy the way we play. Is the schedule the same as the TGC Tours?
