I'm all for tough golf courses and really like this one. However, when you continually hit really good shots and trickle them over a ridge and the balls run by the hole and off the green, that could not have been the intention of this designer. It happened about 4-5 times. The problem with that is the someone could hit a bad shot and walk off with the exact same score. I am sure there will be a few good scores on it but just didn't feel rewarding on 187 greens. I'll admit, I let that start getting to me as the round went on. -14 and -8 for a -22 at the cut. Probably the best I have played in the past 5 weeks was the bad part. Oh well, not the end of the world I suppose. yup, pretty quickly after I scheduled it I realized it was a mistake on my part and the greens were overcooked, apologies! With the help of a second scheduler im hoping to set a lot more of a consistent schedule next year as I made some rookie blunders throughout this season. Live and learn I guess Hey fellas! Mystery designer here popping in for a first post. Sincerest apologies about the greens, they weren't designed to hold up on 187 (I didn't really expect a course of mine to end up on plat--or any tour for that matter--so I didn't have 187 in mind!). I haven't played these rounds yet but I can only image the frustration with the greens cranked all the way up because so many of them run away from the fairway and it's going to be impossible to stop the ball. That's my bad, and going forward I know to design on 187 and rein it back at the end for a default speed. Hope you otherwise enjoy the course, cheers!

Fantastic course it's a beauty grats on getting it on tour for a big event like the playoffs!

The blame there lies on me 100%, it's an excellent plat course, dont undersell it! also I must ask how intentional the name "ram ranch" was, was it just a harmless Sheep ranch reference OR..... was it a reference to the first thing that comes up when you google it (hilarious but inappropriate for a golf forum lmao)

That song is... quite something to say the least haha but I'm glad I could give the forum a few laughs. I guess you could say there's one golf hole for each cowboy at Ram Ranch

-11 at the cut line. Don't think it will be enough to get it done, but we'll wait and see. Finished the last 2 1/2 months of the season playing on Plat with only 1 made cut. Hope the break gives me time for a bit of a reset

As much as I enjoy piling on, this is clearly a green speed issue. Design is A+. The short par 4s are particular stand outs, some of the most challenging we’ve seen on tour this year.
This week will be a chipping/putting contest and who can limit damage on misses the best. -23 halfway.

Welp that probably does it for me this season. Had a shot at the cut until a 5 putt on 18. I didn't think round 2 was all that terrible. 18 is the only one I thought was egregiously unfair, and the soft firmness kept it palatable. Anyway -9 through 2 and I'm assuming I will catch you guys after the reset.
Cheers!

I logged in to complain about the greens (pin 2 on 15 & 18 are a joke), but it seems that's been done. Course was nice - I love a unique concept and it was well executed as it didn't feel like a gimmick. I actually think the greens were nicely done as well, just not pinned appropriately for these 187s.

Finished at -41 which was a better score than I expected going into this week. Great -13 final round but a poor R3 let me down with 3 dropped shots (red slow drive into the never-never on 12).
Some good scores out there!

I thought the 187’s in Rd2 were fine with a -13 😂 -22 halfway and a couple back, good luck all!

Played awful. Just couldn't hit tempo for the first time in a few weeks. Luckily I will still see y'all next week after starting plat in January. Grinded well for that opportunity let's hope I got it. This course was tough when you're slightly off...practice was good too

Hello everyone!
Making my second stint in Platinum after taking my card away for a beer League stint a few months ago and grinding my way back to the top tier after getting my PS5.
Round 1 was simply a case of the nerves hitting me, I guess. I struggled all the way and finished -1.
Then, on the round some people had issues with, I actually was -8 through 11 holes and suddenly thinking of maybe making the cut... Until a bad stretch and a missed eagle putt on 18 by inches finished my hopes.
Finished -8. Up to next season. Happy to be back here.

I've been undone by a beast of my own creation. Hopefully I can get some more (perhaps tamer) courses on tour and start making some more cuts on plat. Had a blast in my first season, can't wait for the next one, and good luck to all those still in it
