Trickled off the green on 9, and somehow ended up OOB. Proceeded to hit again, hit the green, then took out a driver and drove the ball somewhere in the woods and walked off the course I laughed at this way harder than I should have. Apologies. But I think its because its totally relatable

This is a lovely course. Beautifully planted and nicely routed. That 14th is one of the only things keeping this from being an elite course. 538 uphill par 4. I played it into a 10mph wind in my practice round and had a 269-yard approach shot up the hill. It just doesn't fit with the rest of the course. It's too bad because the rest of the course is truly first rate. Just to add to your comment with some statistics. I am in CC-E and currently 56 people have played their first rounds. Of those 56 rounds, there has been one birdie. I was one of the 26 people with a bogey (Drive, wood, pitch, 2-putt). Very tough hole.

Of those 56 rounds, there has been one birdie. I was one of the 26 people with a bogey (Drive, wood, pitch, 2-putt). Very tough hole. Think of 14 and 15 as a par 9. I belong to a club with a similar two hole stretch. 14 is a downhill par 5 that is reachable for some (530 from the blue tees, 550/600 from gold), and always a good birdie opportunity. 15 is an uphill long par 4 (420 from the blue tees, 465 from gold) to a smallish perched green that's difficult to hit, and par is a great score there. Get through those two in nine strokes, either par-par, or birdie-bogey, and you've done pretty well. Same here. 14-15 should be bogey-birdie most of the time. Obvious par 9. Finally learned my lesson on the drivable par 4s. Went OB on each in round 1, finishing with par (chipped in) and bogey. Round 2, laid up on each and went birdie-birdie. Still sitting at -2 through 2 rounds in CC-E, so sweating the cut. Big tempo issues in round 1 and this course kills you if tempo is off.

Meh. -5 in rd one, including a par on the ridiculous 14th hole. Tempo was pretty good, so I decided to play rd 2. Huge mistake.
Red slows, red fasts, OB, and just not giving a damn led to a 49 going out. Ended up shoiting 85 in round 2. Hard to take this game seriously anymore.
On to next weeks TGCTours carnival stops.

I've got to think 14 is a publish error? Either that or it's really silly. But it's true that we all play the same hole so in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter.
Apart from that, great course! Through 2 rounds I think I've gone for one of the drivable par 4's once! Shot selection is key and I'm quite pleased with my choices so far. I've missed a few putts I feel I should have made but 68 and 64 is going to put me in a pretty good spot going in to the weekend.

Some of these holes are brutal, anything off-tempo is going to leave you with a 200+ approach on half a dozen holes, and the less said about hole 14 the better...
75-73 in first two rounds (with only 21 putts in round two); not great but pleased that I managed to stick to a plan (haven't gone for the green on the driveable par 4s yet).
A final score around E in rounds 3 and 4 should be competitive for a top ten in CC-J I think.

71-65 to leave me at -8 in CC-E and making the cut for consecutive weeks
R1 tempo wasn't there and I was scrambling for the most part
R2 Made the most of the conditions and birdied 4 out of the first 5 holes, went out in 31. I had 7 birdie putts, all of those inside 10 feet. Missed 1-2 more putts inside the same range on the back 9, so missed an opportunity to shoot low 60's. But can't be disappointed with a 65 on this course, even with no wind.
Haven't played my remaining two rounds as yet but the Weather Report shows that winds will be up in either R3 or R4 so looking forward to the challenge. Sitting tied for 13th, hopefully push for a top 10 finish.

Played really well, but the putter let me down a bit. Left 2-3 putts out there. Also 3-putted the 18th to finish with bogey. A promo mark is the goal now for the final round !

Got home and finally finished the final 2 rounds… boring -1/E/-1/-3…. Putting was atrocious, but survive with forward tees in round 4 and a few timely chips and pitches. Most critical element was playing bold early and playing safe in the middle. Didn’t chase bad shots out of the rough… except that STUPID bunker on 16… f that guy. Somehow didn’t score worse than bogey over 72 holes.

Pretty good week for me. Made my 2nd cut in 5 tries in CC-B (both of those on something tougher, can I request more of those please?), finished -4 x 3, then a -2 on the last round for a -14. Last round was where I played the worst by far and still managed to scramble an under par score. Probably helped by the fact that I hit almost all the putts that I had. That 14th was definitely a thing and a very clear play for par kind of hole, but scoring a net par on that hole through 4 rounds with a bogey and a birdie(!) on the 3rd round and only 2 balls in the water all week... I'll gladly take it! Good luck next week!
