I am wanting someone to design my local course I used to play on back home. Its a small 18 hole layout Rock Creek Country Club in North Wilkesboro NC. Can anyone help?

I would like to be able to set the length of the heavy rough manually so you can create long grass instead of having to set the length but individual planting

Great post - I have thought about geographically specific building sets; so for example, traditional Scandinavia style buildings. But all the above sounds really interesting!

Hello all. I am just discovering The Golf Club 2019 and PGA Tour 2K21. I used to design courses in the Tiger Woods 02-08 series. The course designer here looks so much easier, but it does seems to be missing many things we were able to do in EA Sport Course Architect 06. I'm hoping someone will confirm that these things aren't available.
Upload image for Panorama/backdrop - this is near and dear to me as it really sets courses apart Adding sounds - I played Cypress Point and was disappointed to not hear the ocean Course Life System - called CLS in TW, Quietly discovered how to put your own moving objects into the game And it's already been mentioned about the custom textures, custom structures - Carnoustie without the clubhouse? doesn't seem right
On the positive side the ability to use LiDAR data in TGC looks so promising, I just gotta try it out! It looks like you must design in TGC and port to 2K21.

I imagine much of that has to do with the fact that this is game and all courses are available for virtually every console, and on PC, and the developers probably feel that they can not vet the content if they allow custom assets. People could be uploading anything I suppose.

With the new game looming, I figured this might be a great thread to get moving again. There have been so many good ideas in this thread, I am curious to see how many make it into 2K23

Don't know if mrntioned, but I've recently wished I could fill IN a splined area with the 'default tree mix' instead of having to populate the entire plot & delete most of them.

I just want a super firm grass option. Like St. Andrews firm. Would be so fun to design around that.

Setting firmness for greens, fairway and other areas of the course to a much higher variety would be excellent. One thing at the top of my list is seeing tournament conditions change day over day and dynamic weather that helps push those conditions.

Having an option on bunker depths, like default and flat (MacRaynor style) would be great, doing them manually is pain in the last part over the fence.

Just to say, those of us involved in the designer programme with 2K have fed many of these suggestions and more to them. Whether it comes in, who knows - there's a lot on the development side that can sound easy but is tough to implement - but we're trying!

You guys have been incredible and I’m sure we’ll learn more soon, but it does worry me that a change in the engine would be required for some of these changes and that clearly isn’t coming with the ‘23 version. With that said, I do expect some nice changes with the two years of potential development between games.

At least they might include designer add-ons - even as DLC - as often as they do 'play-related' items.
Imagine the enthusiasm, if a year into 2k21's life, they had suddenly put a handful of the buildings that line official courses into the game.
I could see them offering DLC with the non-copyright-related objects from 2 or 3 official courses at a time, and getting a decent amount of easy revenue.
Plopping an Arnie statue somewhere would be sweeeeet !
